sitting beside him on the way home– glancing at his profile, pretending to admire the strawberry sunset in the window behind him, nothing between us but a pile of pillows and a secret little crush– left a lovely taste in my mouth, like biting into a chocolate covered pretzel or spitting out salt-water after a swim in the ocean. salty-sweet. warm. sitting beside him left a nervous excitement in the pit of my stomach, like knowing something good is about to happen. like knowing you're almost home.

A rare calm period in amongst the terror and tears.

An exam tomorrow which makes no difference to my degree that I know very little about because I keep not being bothered to revise for it. It's not going to go well (if I am calm enough to even go to it).

A plan which involves survival rather than achievement. Buying high-calorie foods which involve very little cooking/leaving my room. Cleaning my room when I feel better, which is going to happen. Not feeling bad about the exam because it doesn't matter. Making plans for next week because I can't hide in my room forever, and I always have the option of cancelling on people.

I am going to get through this.
