Achievement Unlocked: Second Job Get!
Meant to update for a while but not until I got used of the groove. In any case, I happened to obtain a second job close to home. In Downtown Batavia, there’s a local coffee shop called Limestone Coffee & Tea. I was hired there to be Cafe Attendant and proven to be a lifesaver for the shop. Basically I did the majority of the dishes and that’s one of the essentials. In addition of learning new cleaning techniques, I learned how to perform brain surgery on a cantaloupe (I’ll be ready for medical school yet! JK). I also learned about bakery and the tools they used to prepare food items. There shall be more in the future once experience is gained in a timely manner.
So why a second job you may asked? I apparently lost a day of work at The Grove due to unknown reasons I couldn’t find out. I used to work every other weekend but I worked every other Sunday now. All I know that the bi-weekly pattern consists until changes and I was losing some pay because of it. This leads to an inspiration of finding a job close to home in walking distance and Limestone was one of the possibilities. Thankfully the experiences as Dietary Aide helped me through the process and make it likely to land a job in the food service business. The best part, I was able to make up for the difference plus more (thanks to tips).
While I’m here, if you live in Batavia and you’re looking for bakery goods, delicious food, and the best coffee while regular or flavored, come on down to Limestone! I recommend trying the Limestone Mocha which is the perfect One-True-Pairing of dark chocolate and Irish creme (I ship it). There’s also local goods like greeting cards and handmade jewelry to check out. Small businesses are everywhere! There’s even activities for the kids if I recalled right. Overall, it’s a cozy cafe and you may see me working there.
