Xena is one of those shows that I can and will happily talk about for hours btw. The fact that none of my irl friends have watched it hurts my brain a little.

Laslow: Thank you, milady. Perhaps we should meet for tea later? ...I didn’t hear a no!
Leo: Laslow.
Laslow: Lord Leo! Are you in need of my services?
Leo: No. I wish to ask you about your... habits.
Laslow: My habits...? Oh! You mean when I flirt with beautiful women?
Leo: Yes, that.
Laslow: I suppose you wish to tell me it is inappropriate.
Leo: No. I am sure you hear plenty of that from my brother. I merely would like to know...
Leo: How do you deal with so much rejection? I have never once observed you successfully impress a lady. Yet you keep trying.
Laslow: My flirtations are not based upon my own gain, Lord Leo.
Laslow: While I would, of course, delight in time spent with such wonderful ladies, my intention is simply to point out their desirable traits.
Laslow: As long as they hear that, whether or not they accept me is irrelevant.
Laslow: It is certainly painful to be rejected over and over again. But it is worth it!
Leo: ...I see. You make it almost sound noble instead of inappropriate.
Laslow: Well, it is important to me, milord. Ah! There passes an enchanting lady right now! Milord, may I be excused?
Leo: Yes, of course.
Laslow: Thank you, milord!
Leo: Hm... He’s quite the character.

Laslow: Greetings, Lord Leo! Are you busy?
Leo: Yes.
Laslow: O-Oh.
Leo: Why? Do you need something?
Laslow: No, I was hoping we could talk.
Leo: Well, I suppose I could use a break. What did you want to talk about?
Laslow: Well, our conversation the other day... Why exactly were you curious about how I handled rejection? It seems like an odd question.
Leo: Erm. It is... personal.
Laslow: Oh? Now I’m more curious than ever...
Leo: I hope you remember that I am a prince of Nohr and you are a retainer.
Leo: You are not my friend, and you do not have the right to push me for answers.
Laslow: Of course not, milord. I would never try and force you to talk about something you are uncomfortable with.
Laslow: In fact, I will be taking my leave now. My apologies for bothering you.
Leo: Laslow--! ...Ugh, that did not come out right at all...

Leo: Laslow.
Laslow: Lord Leo! To what do I owe the pleasure?
Leo: I must apologize for our last conversation.
Laslow: Apologize? Why?
Leo: I should not have played the prince card. You were merely trying to be friendly.
Laslow: But you are a prince, milord. I am your servant, not your friend.
Leo: Perhaps. However, if every once and awhile, you would like to have a friendly conversation... it would not be inappropriate.
Laslow: That sounds delightful, Lord Leo.
Leo: And... I also think I owe you an answer.
Laslow: You owe me nothing, milord.
Leo: Still. The reason I asked how you handle rejection so well is that...
Leo: I have dealt with rejection much in my life. My mother rarely allowed me to voice my own thoughts.
Leo: My father pushed me to train to be a warrior, but I was never as talented as my siblings.
Leo: For a time, it seemed as though I would fail on every path I took. And... I did not handle it well at all.
Leo: I let it affect me and I began to think less of myself. Even today, those negative thoughts haunt me.
Leo: I was hoping that by asking you about your rejections, I would overcome those hurdles.
Laslow: Lord Leo... I think I know how I can help.
Laslow: Maybe all you need is someone who can point out your good qualities. And, as you know, I pride myself in my ability to do that.
Laslow: If you ever find that you’re being too hard on yourself, I will gladly help you out of your funk.
Leo: Thank you, Laslow. You’re a good friend.
Laslow: Wait, did you just call us friends?
Leo: I suppose I did. Are we not?
Laslow: Of course we are, milord! I am honored to be the friend of such a charming and talented prince as yourself.
Leo: Heh. Thank you, Laslow.
