And then, sometimes, Dayla looks so young and vulnerable and sad that I almost forget how strong she is, and how full of life and joy. I guess what I love about her is that she’s both: full of darkness and light, tears and laughter, fragility and power. She has suffered a lot and sometimes her past will catch up with her, bringing back all the pain in her memories. Still, she always carries on. She has strength. I never realized that when I created her. She just came to life that way as I kept playing Skyrim and eventually started to explore her character and her backstory. It took me even longer to realize how much Dayla being the way she is means to me: On my own gloomy days, she reminds me that it’s okay to feel sad and weak and lonely - you can feel that way, and still be courageous, strong and confident, even if there are days when you won’t remember you are.
