Real dragons

A concept: elephants, but scaly, clawed; Or tigers, but immense, and winged with horns; An archcolossal snake, but fluent-jawed, A pangolin with eggs and not newborns-- It need not be a monster, not today, Not when we turn with awe, rather than fear, To nature and its intricate make-way, And hold wisdom instead of secrets dear. Though dragons are mythology widespread, No one has seen their leavings or their bones, A sign of any kind, alive or dead; Other behemoths linger in the stones. Though I adore unreal, fantastic wyrms, Reality compares on equal terms. 1/30/2018
