Whatever my situation at the time, thinking of Tolkien's stories fills me with a sense of warmth and comfort that helps me feel a little bit better about the world.
My favorite types of characters
1. Leader/protector/older brother or father figure
2. seemingly cold or intimidating but actually super caring (sometimes goes along with 1 but not always)
3. seems lonely or underappreciated by other characters/the fandom
4. sensitive and sweet, maybe a little dorky
5. the funny one (only my favorite when no other characters fit any of the above descriptions)
And obviously, bonus if the character is also handsome/cute!
I wailed over Bob and screamed at my tv for like 10 minutes straight and I will forever be bitter. HOW DARE YOU.
so having watched TFA about four times today I have decided that I am adding Poe Dameron to my list of personal role models
