it amuses me how many people are reblogging that diogenes shitpost with “um, actually” declarations that t. rex has feathers/is related to modern avian dinosaurs as though I am not a paleoartist whose specialty is feathered theropods
#regrettably we have scale impressions from numerous tyrannosaurid genera#any feathers would be confined to the upper back#and would more than likely be primitive protofeathers#and sparsely placed#that isn’t enough in my book to set a tyrannosaur apart from a plucked chicken#also the fact a link between t. rex and chickens has been determined via collagen analysis?#that’s part of the joke
