Oh hey, while we're on the topic of roleplay
/// Dean keeps going. “What I meant to say was, uh, welcome to… Baby’s Apple Pie Shop.”
So sue him. Improv is harder than it sounds.
“I sell, uh, pies. In my pie shop. How about you? What’s your name?”
“Castiel.”
“Your fake name, Cas.”
“Oh. I…”
Dean stares at him, his brain racing to find an angle, for a way to ease Cas in. “Okay, let’s back up. Let’s start with this…” He leans in again, trying to sound upbeat. “What’s your day job, mister? You came in on your lunch break, right?”
Cas frowns. “I don’t eat—”
“You’re a regular,” Dean says, pointed. “You come in every day for a slice of my world-famous apple pie. You’re just a guy—so what kind of guy? A businessman? An accountant? Whatever works. We’re building a story here, Cas.”
Cas looks thoughtful for a moment before answering, “A clown.”
Dean's mouth drops open. “A clown?”
Cas nods, completely serious. “Yes. My primary occupation is… clown.”
Dean knows he probably shouldn’t tease, but— “You don’t seem funny enough to be a clown.”
“I’m not.”
