i have so much to say about the sapphire necklace scene
it takes place in the garden? by the apple tree, which is the center of so much and where lockwood saw his first ghosts?
the way that he tells her the story, using the words “undying devotion”?
the parallel to the diamond necklace in book 2?
the fact that this little moment follows him telling her that he doesn’t see life as arbitrary anymore?
you’re telling me lockwood found this long lost jewelry and remembered the story and said yk what i’m going to ask lucy to wear it (that’s what he was GOING to do anyways)
