I hope you don't mind that I looked at Phosphers sheet <3 (I DIDN'T READ ANYTHING I PROMIEEEE <3 :D). This happened and I had to draw it. I couldn't get this image out of my head lol. Also Phosphers hair is too fun to draw... its so Shapes...

For context, we started a DnD campaign, and in the First Session, Luelle reached 0 health because of jelly, and Phospher got Blown Up (he only has the 9 health points 😔)

hmmm dickkory for the ship ask game??

Hmm. I guess I’m kinda neutral on it? But I lean more towards shipping it than not (I don’t think I’d write a fic about it but I have sprinkled a little of it in fics before), so I’ll go with the ship it questions.

1. What made you ship it? Teen Titans 2003. They were pretty cute there. I wanted them to hold hands and kiss on the cheek. And also…with all the “Who should Dick date?” debates, I chose Kori over Barbara because I’ve actively disliked their relationship in everything I’ve read. And then I got a little bit attached to the ship I was nominally in favor of.

2. What are your favorite things about the ship? I think how they’re just so casually affectionate with each other. And also…they spend so long working together and discussing their emotions that I can buy them as partners instead of just boyfriend and girlfriend. And I think that Dick is really looking for a partner in his relationships—someone he can deeply love and trust—and Kori fits that really well.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I'm not really sure...hmm. I think. I think that them taking a break after their failed wedding would actually have been a good thing for them, if DC hadn't latched onto Dick dating Barbara. I don't think their relationship was in a good place after everything that had happened in The New Titans (or whatever it was called at that point). And while I absolutely agree that Dick cheating was out of character, it...makes slightly more sense in context, and I think that there was just too much going on there. Also, Dick and Kori were the "designated couple" for too long, Kori was considering leaving Earth, their marriage being rushed and possibly invalid, Mirage, etc. So, yeah. I think that them breaking up (instead of staying on an inevitably sinking ship) could have been done in a healthy manner that allowed them to deal with some of their issues, and eventually they could have come back stronger. I'm definitely willing to be swayed on this though.

seeing as how you're a very big Niki fan, can you explain / summarize her character and her personality a bit? :D

I did kind of go somewhat into Niki’s character, personality and role in the story a few times before, but I am always happy to ramble on about Niki Nihachu, so will gladly ramble about her again!

For me, Niki is a character that is fire incarnate. She was the heart of L’Manburg, and when she declared that L’Manburg was dead, that was when L’Manburg truly died.

Niki has a warm heart. She’s generous, willing to give out food she baked herself to her friends, willing to give out resources even when she has so few of her own. She’s compassionate and empathetic, she heard all of L’Manburg telling her not to trust Eret, but she was willing to give Eret a chance. She’s got a charm to her that makes most trust her, a warm to her presence that has people wanting to be close to her.

Niki has the patience of a short fuse. She’s impulsive and passionate, which can lead to her not entirely thinking things through. You think Niki has the only brain cell of whatever group she’s in? Wrong! She’s not a moron, but she can do silly and even stupid stuff, simply because she got too excited.

Niki is a wildfire. When told not to do something, she makes it clear that she will still do it if she believes that it’s the right thing, and she doesn’t back down even if pushed. She burns hot and bright and furious when angered. She’s vindictive when crossed, she will not allow anyone to hurt her and get away with it. Beneath the kindness and gentleness, she’s hothead and reckless when angered. Vengeance is a calling she will always answer.

But to me, her main defining character trait is her loyalty. The kindness and generosity she showcased? That was because she was loyal to her friends, and that was a way of proving it. She was willing to fight in so many wars, more than most characters, all because she was loyal to someone in the conflict. She will not allow even the cruelest of punishments to stop her from remaining loyal. Even her vindictiveness and anger is often fueled by feelings of being betrayed and used.

Niki wears her heart on her sleeves, and this can lead to a lot of people thinking that what the see is what they get. They just see a quiet, nice girl. But Niki is more than meets the eye. She is resilient, courageous, determined and strong-willed. And she is an incredibly underappreciated character.
