A true delight was crossing through Juliaca's market on a Sunday aboard the Andean Explorer. I had not heard of this famous market until we were, quite literally, on top of it! Fruits, various second hand items, dvds, books, mechanical parts, costumes.... you name it, it was sold here. Life paused while the train cars barrelled through and then resumed the millisecond the train was out of the way. So many locals gathered to wave hello and see who was passing by.
