Happy Holidays!
Another show is in the books. Thanks so much to all those who made the trek out to North Portland to watch us rock out at the Mac! Mac & Cheesery! A festive set with holiday garb and copious amounts of self-censorship due to the audience of children in the front row (I think the Disney song went over well at least).
This was our first performance since our stint in the Rock Bottom Open Mic contest we were a part of over the summer and into September, and a change of scenery was nice to say the least. It was good getting back out there and thanks to Marca Luna for inviting us out to play with you.
You all can expect a lot more coming out of the Almas in 2013. While we have no show dates set we have talked about taking some time to record and write some new stuff. However, I think it is safe to say that we are going to try and get out a bit more in the New Year and play for you all.
Feel free to also hit us up about our performances at Tikki Ct. While we may not be out on the town for a little while we certainly throw a good party with live jams galore. Ask the "Woodman" Johnson from the Mountain Air Studios and the Rock Bottom Open Mic, he knows the Almas are where the party is at.
In other news, one of our principal members Casey Chelius is getting married today! 12/21/12! Hopefully the world will not end so he can enjoy the married life for more than 24 hours! It has been great fun taking the Almas show for a spin around Portland, but I cannot wait until Casey is back on the same soil to be a touring member! 2013 just may be the year. If he doesn't come up here I might just have to take the Almas down south to take over Chile.
One final note, is to our friends. Thank you. Many of you have made it to all of our shows and you have no idea how much this means to us. Hell my own family has only come once so you guys are a huge part of why we enjoy doing this. You are the Almas! With all the violence, hatred, and arguing going on in our country and the world it is important to come together and spread the word of peace.
So happy holidays to all, and peace love and more awesome times in 2013.
