I don't know about y'all, but I feel like we need a bit of a pick-me up after the most recent SdL episode... So thanks @roadien60 et al. for first blogging about episode 175 back in July 2025 (screenshots via Atresplayer).
We kick things off with Marta and Andrés. Marta is in a hurry, because work work work. But she has always time for her fave brother. They talk about how (good) things used to be in their family, and how they are now (thanks to their not so dearest father and brother - l'enfer, c'est les autres).
At least, these two have each other!
Andrés has picked up from their father that Marta is in some way at fault (BS). At first, Marta is evasive, but since Jesús (☠️) already knows, it's only fair that she also let's her beloved brother in.
Marta stammers and feels flustered, but then confesses that she fell in love with a woman and vice versa.
Andrés' face (#1):
Meanwhile, in the cantina: Gaspar has another love emergency going on, writing a letter to a famous woman in the papers. Enchanting her with his words, so that she replied to him. Fina is happy for him.
However, Gaspar being Gaspar got overexcited and wrote to her again, asking for a picture and whatnot. It probably put him on this woman's blacklist. Fina can't believe that Gaspar listened to Tasio's advice, as there should be mystery, seduction, and a slow burn (well, well, well...).
Andrés has many questions for Marta, but really wants to know if it makes her happy. Yes! She's never been happier in her life (😍).
When he cautiously asks whether he knows the woman Marta fell in love with, she tells him it's Serafina Valero... (squeal #1!)
Andrés' face (#2): 'Our Fina'?
Marta wonders why he hasn't noticed anything before. Andrés thinks they were very discreet (lol, they were not, but maybe around him).
In any case, Andrés fully supports his sister, and is very happy for her.
(So wholesome!)
Darth Vader theme: Don Damián comes to the office to see his daughter. Marta only wants to talk about business, if not, she has no interest to stick around.
Don Damián shows Marta a childhood picture of hers, and starts to reminisce about the hikes the children mostly went on with their mother, how happy Marta used to be on those days. Marta is wary of where this is going, and is not thrilled when she learns that her father is thinking of purchasing a house in the mountains for her, and for whomever she wants to bring there. Naturally, this would only be Fina. His offer still stands though. Marta thinks this is a trick to push her out of sight. Don Damián assures her that his gift comes from the heart (🖤). He asks her to consider his offer, when she has calmed down.
A dumbfounded Marta goes to see Fina first thing. Fina also suspects that Don Damián has ulterior motives. But Marta isn't so sure about it. She points out that her father knows that she would only bring Fina to the house (hm, hm). No strings attached!
The possibilities very slowly dawn on them - they could finally be together as they had always dreamed about, even though it always seemed unlikely to happen.
Fina's dreamy and Marta's 'what's up with her' face:
(Squeal #2 by Marta)
Marta is still unsure what to do, and frankly burned by her father's antics. Fina will fully support her though - whatever she decides. (Wholesome!)
Some other not so fluffy bits that happened:
Don Damián thought it a good idea to promote Tasio to Factory Manager after one month of being Joaquín's asistant (the post also became vacant on short notice). When he first suggested this to Marta and Joaquín, Marta is quite dismissive of Tasio:
Casa Grande: Don Damián is having dinner with Jesús, and had asked Marta to join him earlier on. She gets annoyed when she sees her brother at the table. Jesús pointedly asks her who she expected - Ava Gardner serving champagne (lol)? Better company is sorely missing: Andrés is busy at the factory, Begoña will join dinner later on, and Julia is spending time with the Merinos (a very hot topic for Jesús).
Marta is also not happy that her father unilaterally went through with Tasio's promotion, prompting this reaction (😂):
That's it. Hang in there, maybe @anandabrat's fluffy blanket will also help.
