Andrew Micah Hurst was born in Bridgeport, Maine. His parents, Meredith and Peter Hurst, had two children. Him, and his younger sister, Sarah. Andy was something that his parents always called him, especially his mom, and then his sister, whenever she was able to start talking. So Andy is essentially what he goes by. It’s what he always goes by.
Being raised in Bridgeport, Andy was just a typical young boy. Always getting into things and always getting into trouble. There’s was always one thing that calmed him though. Football. He started playing at a young age, and was actually really decent at the game.
Football was his life. When he wasn’t playing, he was watching film. When he wasn’t watching film, he was working out. He took the game seriously, but always had fun whenever he was on the field.
Andy had colleges practically knocking down his door for him to commit to them. The whole process was quite interesting to him, but through a very thorough and thoughtful process, he had finally decided on a college. He was a starting Tight End as a freshman, which was quite unheard of.
While he was having the time of his life in college though, his his focus started to change just slightly. It wasn’t just about football for him anymore. When he met Pia Rhodes, it didn’t take long for him to catch feelings for her. She was unlike anyone he had ever met. She didn’t accept his advances at first, so he backed off a bit, not wanting to pressure her into being with him. He was raised to be a gentleman first and foremost. The next thing he knew though, they were in a relationship, and it was amazing. Amazing enough for Andy to propose to Pia in just a short amount of time. The relationship was unlike any other relationship he had ever been in. She supported him through everything. Even when he found out he was going to be drafted into the NFL.
They were in high gear the week of the wedding, putting the finishing touches on their big day. It was when he got the call. His sister, Sarah, had been in a car accident, killing her head on. His world shifted, not knowing what to do. Before he could have any time to process that news though, just two days later, the day of his wedding, Andy was in the process of getting his tuxedo one when his world shifted again. There was a baby. He had a niece that his family knew nothing about. It was then, Andy had to make a decision; To marry the love of his life or keep his baby niece from going into foster care.
Valentine’s Day was the day that was supposed to change his life forever, and it did. It was the day that he met his baby niece, and adopted her. Elizabeth Sarah Hurst.
It’s been four years since he had been in his home town. Andy moved back to Bridgeport four months ago. He got a little warn down of the city, so he decided to move back to Bridgeport, Maine to be closer to his parents. They deserved to get to know their grandchild, and be in her life. He transferred to his old stomping grounds at the high school as a history teacher, and he also took over as the head football coach.
He’s been staying low, trying to get used to being back in Bridgeport and adjusting to the small town life again. Coming from a big city back to a small town, it was definitely something to get used to again. He doesn’t regret the life he’s created, but he does wonder what if.
