2016 Goals not Resolutions
I don’t do resolutions because to be honest I feel I’m pretty good the way I am. However, I do love setting new goals. It’s important to have something to work towards. Self improvement is about learning to be happy with and on the journey not just with the completion of a goal. So in hopes of enjoying that journey and meeting my goals I thought I would publish them for some sort of accountability :)
Work: Learn more. I start my new job on Monday with a bunch of really smart people I’m excited to learn from.
Fitness: Just keep on doing what I’m doing, just eat better. With the help of FitCravings the meal prep guys I started last year and posted about this should be good.
Friends & Family: Deeper meaningful relationships and cut out the frivolous.
Finances: Learn how to count.
Fun: Find new ways to have fun. I’m going to take maui thai classes because it’s also been something I've always wanted to do.
Time: Be smarter with it, it’s the one thing that will run out.
Home: Limit Chesters toys. They are everywhere.
Here’s a great article I just found on what’s next for mobile now that everyone and literally their mother has a smart phone. Is the app economy dead? Check it out.
A nice article that came out this week on some of the work my team has been doing on Dove recently.
I’m a Power Ranger
This morning on the subway into work, I sat across from an adorable little boy and his mom. Going in between stations I guess I had a second of cell service and a text came through. I just happen to have my text alert set as the Power Rangers communicator sound. The boy looked at me shocked, smiling and delighted. I winked at him and said shhhhh. It was the cutest thing ever. ever ever.

Arts & Letters Club - The Art of Conversation
Yesterday I had the privilege of taking part in The Art of Conversation at Torontos historical Arts and letters club. The night was full of passion and lively conversation. I was even asked to come back! Here is the overview for the night - "Tonight's topic is Virtue. Because many of our ideas have come from the early Greek philosophers we will touch on Aristotle's concept of the virtuous man. We will consider, as well, the action of our present day internet vigilantes.
To get started I would first like to read aloud an excerpt from "Middlemarch" with its portrayal of Mary Garth, leading to a comparison with Hillary Clinton and her emails"
This is great. The Ontario government has released a new ad for its controversial sex-education curriculum that touches on areas including same-sex marriage, sexting and consent
