harry's aversion to asking questions stems from his abusive childhood where he was punished if he questioned the dursleys about anything! he gets so much hate for this, for trying to do things on his own & avoiding showing vulnerability, but i think it's part of his trauma. kinda related to this, but so many people say he's not suited to be an auror because he's "dumb" and doesn't investigate but he LOVES investigating (just not asking q's!), protecting people, and dueling. he'd be great imo :')

bitch! this boy is the furthest thing from dumb! who remembered the information about nicolas flamel and put it together! who made the connection between the basilisk and moaning myrtle! who watched and tracked malfoy for a solid year because he knew he was up to something even though everyone thought he was crazy! who, even while under threat of torture and death, paid attention and figured out bellatrix was harboring a horcrux in her gringotts vault! harry did. lol y’all remember that time in philosopher’s stone when harry vowed to mind his own business and not look into it anymore and then literally the next paragraph is like ‘but then this happened and that went out the window.’

harry james potter is a natural-born detective with highly developed protective instincts and combat skills. in other words, exactly what it takes to be a damn good auror, and everyone from dumbledore to viktor krum maintained that he was intelligent and talented.

that boy was hella traumatized by his childhood and a huge part of the way he thinks and operates stems from that. not understanding how to utilize his support system doesn’t make him stupid. he just never learned how.

hey! i love your art and i saw you mentioned hinny fics. do you have any recommendations? finding them is so hard for me!

uhhh i’ve never bookmarked a fic in my entire life so i don’t have a list of my faves sorry!! good long hinny fics are few and far in between for me :/ and i never remember the names of oneshots…..

the fic that comes to mind is “the aurors” but there’s not too much focus on their relationship in that, still very good though

i’d check out the author northumbrian and maybe some of my followers have some to recommend??
