Don't know why I'm sharing this here but it might be helpful for some.
If you have an Android device that hasn't gotten the new (awful and buggy) UI update yet, and you don't want it:
Go to settings.
Search for "About Phone" and click that.
Find "Software Information" and open it.
Find "Build Number".
Tap on "Build Number" several times until you get a pop-up saying that you're now in Developer Mode.
From there, search for Developer Options.
In that menu, scroll down until you find the option to turn off auto-updates.
P.S.: Don't play with Developer Mode too much, you can mess up your phone if you don't know what you're doing.
My family all got the update and hated it. I managed to evade by having a slightly older phone and then doing this. Good luck!
I'm rolling back to Fairphone6 OS
I loved e/os, but too many things I need are just incompatible wih it, including some banking apps
It suuuucks, but I'm gonna add as many safety/privacy things as I can to my FP6 while using Android 6 - I think it's already deflated, but I'm gonna see if I can skim it does anymore
I hate seeing Google all over the place. I think theres a micro G app though
Really gutted, I loved seeing how many trackers had been prevented, and the privacy rating on all the apps.
At least I still have an eco-friendly phone, that was most important to me
And at least I tried it out!
I am so tired
My phone updated to Android 15 and I hate is and here's me complaining about it and asking if anyone knows any fixes
1- the "notifications settings" button at the bottom of the pull down panel
I got rid of the split pull down thing but I can't get rid of this
2- the fact that Spotify is like this now, on the lock screen the player used to be at the top (and the fact that the home screen is 5×6 now)
3- and, what I'm most upset about, they took away aod (always on display)
It used to be I could tap the time on my lock screen, it would show me the full time (seconds) and what song was playing, the temperature, upcoming alarms, and alow me to turn in my voice recorder without even turning on my phone, and now it's all just GONE
Oh and when I take a screenshot it makes a noise and I can't turn it off
I was able to fix most of the stuff the update fucked up, but I can't figure out how to fix, if anyone else knows how please let me know
