The fact that troi and neamhni both feel other people is so. It's something rotating in my brain a lot. One of then feels everyone around her, iirc the stringer they physically are to her. But the other one feels her entire people like a swirling ocean. She's had to meditate on that connection to keep it from feeling like she's drowning. One of them might feel overwhelmed, the other needs the connection feel safe and sane. And it's so natural for both of them. To feel the emotions, to feel the people. It's been part of both of them for their entire lives. But it's still a vastly different experience, how and why they feel it.
And then bringing Data and the rest of the crew into it, Neamhni can only sense and feel Data, because he's the only one capable of being connected to the Dream. But Troi feels all of them. I don't remember if she feels Data but. If she doesn't that's another vast difference. One feels the entire crew minus Data. The other feels her entire people, light-years away, including Data, but only Data.
