안드로이드 위젯 기획시 참고 사항

안드로이드 위젯 기획을 얼마전부터 시작하기 했다. 스펙이 큰 것은 아니지만 위젯 분야는 처음이어서 관련해서 간단하게 리서치를 진행했다. 아래와 같이 몇가지 체크리스트를 정리해봤다. 

- 안드로이드 3.1부터 위젯 리사이즈 기능을 지원한다(롱프레스 액션 후 떼는 동작을 통해 위젯 사이즈 조절이 가능하다). minResizeWidth, minResizeHeight 변수를 통해 위젯 구동에 대한 사이즈 마지노선을 설정할 수 있다.

- 안드로이드 4.0부터 위젯 가장자리(정확히 프레임과 바운딩 박스 사이)에 자동으로 margin값을 추가하는 것을 지원한다. 해당 스펙을 사용하기 위해서는 targetSdkVersion을 14 이상으로 셋팅해야한다.

- 제스쳐에 있어 좌우 액션을 지원하지 않는다. 이미 홈패널 좌우간 이동에 좌우 제스쳐가 활용되기 때문이다. 위젯에서 지원하는 제스쳐는 터치와 상하 스와이프 액션이다.

- 위젯 셀의 크기, 숫자, 간격이 안드로이드 디바이스에 따라 천차만별이기 때문에 위젯 사이즈가 기기별로 flexible하게 대응하도록 하는 것이 필요하다. 사용자가 위젯 사이즈를 조절할때 시스템은 dp 단위로 위젯이 대응할 수 있도록 지원한다. 이런 이슈 때문에 위젯 기획시 사이즈에 대한 고려는 그리드 숫자 보다는 사이즈 단위로 어떤 요소들을 그려야할지 고민하는 것이 필요할 것이다.

- 안드로이드 위젯은 처음 홈화면에 설치된 후 설정 화면을 노출한다(사실 대부분의 위젯이 이와 같은 scene을 지원하는 것 같지는 않다). 이때 지나치게 많은 설정 요소를 사용자로 하여금 요구하지 말아야할 것이다. 그리고 한번 사용자가 설정을 하고 나면 다시 설정 화면에 방문할 이유가 없다고 한다. 따라서 일반적으로 위젯은 설정 버튼을 노출하지 않는다. 개인적으로 위젯을 홈화면에 설치할때 설정하고 위젯 사이즈 조정하는 flow가 괜찮아 보인다.

Radial Menu Widget

Hey World,

I have got a quick update for my fellow android developers out there. I have been working on something very interesting for the past few days. Yup as the title suggestes I was looking into means of creating a radial menu. Unfortunately there was no provision given by the api to make a menu like that. On a doing a bit of gooooooogling I found a prototype project by Jason. I used his base code and cleaned and modified to make the it easier for everybody to use the code. I communicated Jason and had his applroval in the distribution of the code. Follow the link and get started with it! P.S. If anybody out there is going to use it for commercial purpose you are free to do so. Just post the market place link by so that I can check it out.

Android Gets A Widget!

A homework widget is now available with the free download from the android market.  This widget makes all incomplete homework accessible directly from the home screen.  Shortcuts to add a homework, edit a homework, view all homework and sync to your myhomeworkapp.com account are all included.
