Something comforting to me about the Dean/Cas conflict is that Dabb said the emotional conflict isn't resolved between them yet. Three writers know they have more to say, more issues to discuss. I'm waiting for Cas to say that while he appreciates the sentiment, Dean has missed the point a bit. That might be part of why Cas stopped Dean from going on at the end. There's definitely more to say.

Yeah I’ve been thinking about that quote in the interview and also regardless, no it doesn’t feel like a resolution, that’s true, and it’s not meant to. It feels like a wall crumbling, ice melted, barriers went down and now it’s them looking at each other going what’s next. That scene in the kitchen where they’re just sitting there, together, silently. We don’t know if they talked. Maybe they didn’t, maybe they can’t yet still, they wanted to just *be*, together, to be there, to show the other one they are in this together and will figure it out but it’s not fixed. Thank you for sending me that, I feel like I really need to talk about this. I’ve been loving S15, this is really the first thing that my brain has had trouble accepting or processing. I’m really really happy and satisfied and shook with how so much of the DeanCas stuff went down in this ep and it was good, but I have some worries too.

I do feel like there’s a ton of unresolved unaddressed issues. Dean wasn’t wrong to be upset and angry about Cas, he wasn’t wrong to be hurt, he did go too far in how he lashed out. It’s not that that was okay with me. Clearly Dean has issues, things that took root when he was a child, and he never got the support and resources and help he needs, the freedom to address them and heal, but at the same time how is he supposed to do that if he can’t express negative emotions?? He needs to find more constructive ways to express them. This is relatable for life. But the Dean/Cas issues are is hella more complex than “Dean is rilly angry and can’t stop himself from lashing out.” Cas’s issues and Dean’s issues fed off each other’s insecurities for years. They need to work this out and it’s not all on Dean’s end. So I’m a little nervous about how this ep placed it so heavily on Dean’s perspective and issues, but the story’s not over.

The veil between said and unsaid with Dean and Cas is, like, paper thin right now. I wonder how much thinner it's going to get before the end. Dabb already said it's not completely resolved . . .

RIGHT? Their friendship has also been redefined in his own words as well.

So, I don't know how I want the whole show to end, but I do know that we deserve to see Castiel in flannel before it's over. I'd also take a Cas version of "I am a Winchester!"

how about Cas comes out wearing flannel, carves C.W. into the table next to the initials of the other Winchesters, and Sam remarks, “Now we’re all brothers!” and Dean says, “Not my brother, Sammy!” and Sam is s h o o k, but then Dean turns to Cas and says, “Wanna get married?” and Cas glares at him because, “We haven’t even dated, Dean!” and Dean says, “Sure, we have,” and, “Damn it, Cas, what did you think all those late night cowboy movie marathons were for?” and Cas glowers and glowers and glowers, and slowly and deliberately, he looks Dean in the eyes and says, “Torture, Dean. They were torture.”

Great, Mittens, now you've got me thinking about all of the possibilities going on inside Dean's head. Is that where we'll see John again? See Dean shacked up with Cas somewhere as his happy place (lol, yeah right)? WILL THE POWER OF LOVE FINALLY SAVE THE DAY? ?? I mean, I trust that Dabb's got some great character stuff brewing in his noggin, but you never know with this show *insert "You're watching Supernatural" gif*

Heck if we get a shot of him fishing on that dock from the beginning of 4.20 I’ll scream. OH NO YOU MADE ME THINK A BAD THOUGHT. Imma type it out so everyone can suffer with me. He’s on that dock fishing, drinking a beer maybe, and he keeps looking around like he expects Cas to show up any minute, but Cas doesn’t. Every once in a while he looks down at a little piece of paper in his hand and it’s blank. He can’t remember who he was waiting for. Then Michael shows up and the dream shifts to something else.

He’s in the kitchen at the bunker. He gets two beers out of the fridge and turns to the counter, sliding one of them across to someone he expected to be there, but there’s no one. He’s riding in the Impala talking with someone in the front seat with him. The man’s wearing a sweater and doesn’t seem to know Dean, which is unfortunate, because Dean’s got no idea who he is either. 

It goes on and on, watching what must be scenes from his own life as Michael sorts through his memories, but Dean feels disconnected from them, like he’s the one seeing them for the first time. Over and over again, he’s pushed out of his own mind. Then he’s back at Stull, watching the faceoff go down, until someone throws a holy oil Molitov at Michael, but Dean turns just in time to see someone-- Cas-- As Lucifer snaps his fingers and Cas is just gone. He screams, but the next thing he knows he’s in Hell and there’s pain and screaming and he’s being torn out of that place with a hand burning into his shoulder, and he’s waking up in his coffin... but now he remembers.

And that’s the moment he starts taking back control.

2: When you’re writing a new story, what is the one thing you need to know before you can start?

Right now in my current writing period, it’s setting! Whether it’s going to take place somewhere like a town or just in the bunker (if we’re talking about a fic). I haven’t done any world-building yet from the ground up. It can help me build the story more! I view it as a mixing bowl where I’m throwing the characters and situation into. 

There’s probably a longer answer to be had there, but basically right now: Setting. 

29: How do you plot your stories?

I’m a ‘pantser’ so, I do very little plotting! “Fly by the seat of your pants”.

The most I have right now is a whiteboard with a timeline of SPN events relevant to the fic. The least I do is just open a document (these are usually Codas and pure smut) and I just go with it. Everything in between is *vague hand gestures* 

There are different levels of pantsers out there, and each piece of writing of mine varies. Usually, when I’m writing, a dialogue scene or something else will come to me and I’ll write it at the very bottom to reference to for later. Sometimes I’ll just do that, sometimes I’ll write a page “outline”, sometimes I’m like let’s just go with what we want yo let’s go for a ride. 

But, extensive outlining and plotting makes my brain think I already wrote the damn thing, and moves on!
