english isn't my first language so i hope im able to explain what i'm trying to say respectfully.

its sad that so many new fans feel unsure now about interacting with jensen about destiel and getting stuff signed. ive been to a con few years back and ive had several friends go to many cons and have a postive experience with him in this regard. he's always been open to sign fanworks and appreciates them even. idk how to put, like sure i was dissapointed to after purcon but i feel its mostly ppl on the internet who're fear mongering in a way and painting jensen as overly aggressive towards fans who ship destiel....

sorry i dont think is makes much sense but i'm really frustrated at people spending all their energy at trying to bring down jensen and queer ppl who still support him thinking that its the pinnacle of activism. the world would be a better place if these people directed their hatered towards actual issues plaguing the queer community 🤷‍♀️

This is exactly what is happening. Fear mongering is a great term for it.

People online saying they’re worried about having Jensen sign Destiel stuff doesn’t seem to extend to the actual people going to cons and having Jensen sign Destiel stuff.

We keep getting stories about Jensen…wait for it…signing Destiel fan art.

So people are writing that they won’t do it now…but people ARE doing it and Jensen isn’t screaming in their faces…he’s signing the fan art.

Thank you to this anon for pointing that out. People are only listening to the warnings and the fear and not listening to or seeing the many many positive interactions and fan stories. In the mix people with a negative agenda against destiel keep on their usual drumbeat about how Jensen “hates destiel and hates all you shippers” and no he doesn’t. He welcomes destiel shippers, understands why the ship matters, and he enjoys seeing the work fans make for that. He has smiled and laughed and appreciated a lot of fanart, and supported fans. The conflation of not shipping it with hatred has to end. And I don’t mean stans who actively hate get a free pass, or shaming others for shipping it and seeing the validity in the text. Not shipping is not the same as that kind of hate. Jensen has been kinder than most anti destiels and some professed “non shippers.” I mean that Jensen gets unfairly attacked or labeled for people’s agendas and the reality is far more complicated.

Two sides want to stir the fear pot for their own reasons.

But imo the hatred in fandom creates its own storms a lot of the time while Jensen is just vibing.

Misha was busy and had to leave early so CE had to change the cockles panel to JR2. He crashed that panel and had to run.

Misha was the villain all along!!!

When you're out there doing any/all of the following:

-referring to queer fans who respect Jensen as self-hating queers -attacking allies who are vocal advocates on bi dean/destiel readings and the validity of that in the text, & who have fought against the hateful rhetoric/denialism from antidestiels for years -saying that queer identity is all people are and that they can’t have trauma from anything else or they’re boring -erasure of an array of mhi issues, including ptsd -stereotyping of what it looks like for someone to act bi -rigidly binary ideas about sexuality -accusing every Jensen fan of being homophobic -accusing Jensen of being a bigot -shaming and attacking other destiel shippers for dissenting against ongoing hate from certain hellers -hatred toward both Jensen and Misha -smearing and false accusations about other destiel shippers, calling other shippers homophobic for disagreeing with their hatred toward Dean, Jensen, Misha -saying that Dean is worthless unless he’s bi -treating Dean as worthless unless he’s in a romantic relationship with Cas -treating Cas’s confession & his own self-acceptance as meaningless unless he’s in a romantic relationship with Dean -misogynistic comments about women who ship destiel and disagree with their hate -accusing anyone who wants the revival of only wanting it to “make Dean straight”

You don't get to cry victim and virtue signal about being morally superior and the ones in the right while you treat anyone who has common sense and comprehension to disagree with you and object to your hate campaign, including people on your own "side" of fandom, like dirt.
