If your first thought after learning about andropause is that society should be flipped in a way that oppresses men; what the fuck is wrong with you? After women being oppressed for so many years you just want to turn it around and subject it to someone else? That's fucked up. I understand wanting freedom and lowkey revenge against your oppressors but turning around and doing the same back makes you no better??
The individual man, while having been conditioned his whole life, is not the one keeping up the patriarchy. Does he perpetuate misogyny? Yes. So do a lot of women. Because this society is inherently misogynistic. However that does not mean that the average man is controlling and holding up the patriarchy. It is the old white men at the top doing that. We need to fight against them and not each other.
Either way, I thought basing a woman's worth on whether or not she can have kids was, I dunno, wrong??? How come when we learn about andropause you all of a sudden change the narrative to being about who can provide children? And some people are turning it into saying that a woman having a harem is more functional than a man so the child has more caregivers, opposed to a man having a harem where each child will be under cared for. There's an easier way. It's called family. Before colonization it was common for grandparents to live with the family unit and they would take care of the children when the parents went out to provide. They would impart wisdom and lessons to those children and help them. A harem is not going to do that.
