Moon Cake Disaster: The followup

Well...at least you tried? Try making songpyeon (it's a sticky sweet rice cake stuffed with ground nuts and honey), you might have an easier time than with the mooncakes. It's what us Koreans eat during harvest moon (aka chuseok). Careful though, they can be addictive. I just ate nearly a dozen of them.
Oh nice, I’ll add it to my queue!

Have you tried Ice Skin Mooncakes? They're non-bake so less likely to turn into cookies :P
I’ve seen them, but I had the real mooncake molds, so I wanted to at least try...

THE DOUGH IS SO THIN. IT BREAKS SO EASILY.

Did the recipe call for chilling them? If not you might try that.
Well, I chilled the fillings but not the dough. Probably should have chilled them once I’d molded them....

Maybe your dough was too wet? Or your filling might have been too wet. I still have the problem where my mooncakes crack and blow up if they have the red bean paste filling.
Yeah, I think the filling didn’t hold up and the skin wasn’t strong enough on its own.
