Ok forgot we go to the same school for a min and was like wow what a coincidence! But honestly I have heard multiple white students say things like they don’t see why the kid should be punished and that is just... yikes
it’s honestly crazy!! im in multicultural psychology this quarter and we’re talking about this and these 2 frat dudes were just like ‘yeah but what can you do....does he really deserve to be punished’ and im like yes????? he openly did blackface?? on top of that the ENTIRE frat had a ‘gangsta’ themed party that was racially insensitive plus a few years back we had the frat do the colonial bros and nava-hos party so it’s clearly an issue. I feel like we get an email from the dean like 3 times a year talking about something like this and it’s frustrating because nothing’s being done and it feels like they really don’t give a shit about minority students.
like yeah he was just a dumb 20 year old but his actions affected other students who are his age and he is an ADULT who deserves to face the consequences of his actions and I sincerely hope he gets some empathy and awareness from this whole situation
