You could make that argument. A lot of people would make fun of you for trying to, but you could make that argument.

The Beginnings podcast with Andy Beckerman sits down with The Infinite Wait and Other Stories and Drinking at the Movies author Julia Wertz to talk about, you guessed it, her beginnings. Listen to the whole thing here!
David Longstreth is on Beginnings with Andy Beckerman, to discuss his early life and influences, and on Kreative Kontrol with Vish Khanna, to talk about his new album with his band Dirty Projectors and the chamber ensemble stargaze, Song of the Earth. "Remarkable record," Khanna says. "The scope and ambition of it is something to behold." You can hear both conversations here.
It's time for Beginnings, the podcast where writer and performer Andy Beckerman talks to the comedians, writers, filmmakers and musicians he admires about their earliest creative experiences and the numerous ways in which a creative life can unfold.
I'm taking a break for the holidays, so I thought I'd put up this pilot I did for Earwolf late last year called Let's Get Metaphysical. LGM is a hybrid philosophy discussion/sketch show (maybe from that combo you can see why it didn't get picked up), but besides some of the usual awkwardness in a pilot, it's pretty fun and interesting - I got to talk to some funny people, plus a philosopher that was a real inspiration to me, and the sketch actors are some of my favorite performers, and I got to have my good friend and UCB sketch writer extraordinaire Geoff Garlock contribute a sketch in the middle. Kind of a dream! Hope you enjoy it, and see you in 2019!

Oooh, Couples Therapy was on Saturday! Goddamn was it a fun time, and here are the lo-res iPhone pics to prove it! Despite the audience’s clenched bootyholes, these 8 were so good, they busted through their defenses, like Joe Arpaio busting through the demon-barrier decades ago to enter the Earthly realm. We were legit lucky to get to spend an evening with them! Check out the next one on 2/10 at @nerdmelt!
Holy shit. Packed room last night plus four great duos. I can’t say enough good things about our guests: Matt Koff and Emmy Blotnick, Jo Firestone and Brett Davis, Sydnee Washington and Marie Faustin, & Matt Fisher and John Murray! May’s show will be a special one at Union Hall on 5/19 at 8pm. Stay tuned for line-up and ticket info!
