Delightful reunions aplenty happened in 2018 for the Les Mis film’s actual Amis, at work but more often off. As usual, Fra and Killian led the way, blessing themselves and us with lots of togetherness joy, including seeing in 2018 over a New Year’s Eve Fra can’t even recall the whole of, Killian joining Fra’s Seisún concert, Fra crashing through a night out with Killian and his sister Eimear, and an epic Pride day in London that’s more than earned its own retrospective post later. Elsewhere in Amiland, Mat Seadon-Young and George Blagden starred together in Company as two of the Boyfriends, and George and Fra caught up at the press night for The Gronholm Method. Fra visited New York in time to see the end of Alistair Brammer’s run in Miss Saigon on Broadway, and Alistair gave Fra an excellent send-off in London before Fra headed back to NYC to begin his own run there in The Ferryman. In between, Alistair and Fra appeared together in the West Side Story Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Killian also dropped in on a little live work, appearing with the Barricade Boys, including fellow film castmate Andy Coxon, during West End Live. More reunions to come in 2019, to be sure.
