It's kind of funny seeing people on Tumblr treat yank and Usamerican as slurs.

Yank is a slur for people from the USA, or the global north more generally, in the same way that cracker is a slur for white people. That is to say, it's an unkind thing to call someone, but if you feel attacked by it that says more about you than about the person saying it.

Usamerican is a term to denote that someone is from the USA, instead of one of the dozens of other countries in North, Central, and South America that are just as American as the USA. Calling it a slur has the exact same energy as Elon Musk saying cis is a slur. If you're from the USA and think Usamerican is a slur, get over yourself and learn that you're not always the default.

Johnny mindlessly walking everywhere even if danger’s ahead bc sometimes he gets over excited and doesn’t check his surroundings bc he just feels that safe around his bf, and Simon constantly panicking and feeling like he’s dragging him and yanking him by his collar like a toddler

Simon’s shaken him around more than once but Johnny doesn’t get it bc he’s like “?? Im in the military im literally trained to be wary of my surroundings” and simon is like borderline screaming at him in an indignant way going like “that’s bc ur brain is only ON when you’reoN THE FIELD !!!!”

So Johnny’s more mindful now, but simon’s still got an eagles eye on him. He’s happy Johnny feels safe enough to turn his brain off around him a little, but it’s not gonna be the missions that put him in the ground, it’s the heart attacks his bf constantly gives him. And it won’t be the missions that kill johnny, it’ll be when simon wrings him by his neck for scaring him one too many times
