Best of 2018 Countdown #15 :: Stuart and the Extended Amis!
We begin the year end reviews in the usual way, with the stealthy Stuart Neal, who finished in 42nd Street earlier this year and is now knocking them dead in The Producers in Manchester. The vast majority of extended amis from the 2012 Les Mis film were also working away through 2018, including: Matthew Corner, who performed in Zelda and The Last Ship, and is now in Fiddler on the Roof; Jos Slovick, who kicked up his heels in Brief Encounter and continued with his former Once castmates in the band The Phoenix Collective; Rhidian Marc, who finished in Pippin and then joined Wicked as cover Doctor Dillamond; Dominic Applewhite, who appeared in the film Overlord between his newfound joy in directing and producing; Jonny Purchase, who completed a long run in Les Mis in the West End as Revolve 32′s Feuilly, cover Enjolras, and emergency Marius before performing in concerts and now in Aladdin in his native Yeovil; Andy Coxon, whose dance card was overwhelmingly full this year with work in Hair, Qu4trer, The Distance You Have Come, The Last Five Years, Pieces of String, and both personal and Barricade Boys concerts, as well as launching his personal care business Pitt London; Joseph Peters, who appeared with The Other Guys and Secret Cinema; Sam Weir, who continued with the Titanic musical tour, and Jonathan Dudley, who joined Wicked as cover Boq. Another fantastic and busy year for a bunch of top blokes.
Best of 2017 Countdown #15 :: Stuart and the Extended Amis!
As usual, we begin with the quiet but fulsomely talented Stuart Neal, still tapping away in the West End as Billy Lawlor in the revival of 42nd Street. Many of the extended amis from the 2012 Les Mis film also continued to shine this year, including Jonny Purchase, a stalwart of the Les Miserables West End cast currently playing Feuilly and covering Enjolras (and knocking out the occasional emergency Marius); Andy Coxon, who starred in the 50th anniversary production of Hair and in Yank earlier in the year; Jos Slovick, who received excellent reviews in the Chichester production of Fiddler on the Roof and also kept gigging with the Phoenix Collective; Jonathan Dudley, cheering it up as ever in Book of Mormon in the West End, as well appearing in the South Pacific concert at the Royal Albert Hall; Chris Milford, currently working as a puppeteer and magician in Circus 1903 in Las Vegas; Rhidian Marc promoted the Tiger Bay musical with John Owen Jones between stints in Pippin; Sameul Weir featured in the National Theatre’s production of Common; Joseph Peters continued in the musical All or Nothing and worked with the Barricade Boys group; and Matthew Corner starred in the final cast of Jersey Boys in the West End. Onward and upward, everyone.
Molly got pregnant during sixth year as a result of a drunken mistake. The baby’s father and her best friend Matt Corner stepped up immediately to help raise baby Erin Veronica. The two easily fell in love and were wed when they were twenty.
