Mood Monday Love-Craft Spells-Breaking The Angle Against The Tide
Mood Monday.
Love at first listen.
This is Craft Spells and their new single, “Breaking The Angle Against The Tide”. Sad lyrics surrounded by strings and melodies that seem to suggest the opposite. A song in contrast that steals your attention and convinces you that the new LP, Nausea, is worth a listen.
Yes, yes it is.
Pleasing instrumentals, soothing vocals, and interesting arrangements…
My Goodness opened for Augustines March 11th at the Garrison, and if numbers could indicate the adeptness of a band, Augustines is excellent before they even walk on stage, from sheer numbers alone. My Goodness, the trio from Seattle, Washington, brought a heady dose of good old fashioned rock to the Garrison that evening. Indeed, it was music to crowd surf to.
CONCERT ALERT: MY GOODNESS TO PLAY VENUE ON FEBRUARY 5TH
Schneider (guitar/vocals) and Lum (drums) will be joined by The Blood Brothers’ Cody Votolato on the tour route, which will begin in Vancouver and conclude in Salt Lake City on March 22nd. This will be their first national tour.
Spin Magazine describes their sound as "…a stripped-down, fuzz-toned racket that harkens back to screaming Seattle bands of the 1960’s like The Sonics and The Wailers," and after hearing a few of their tunes - it couldn’t be closer to the truth. Gritty vocals, high intensity, with a blues-y vibe, definitely adds up to a great live set.
Drawing inspiration from their favourite listens as youth, including the likes of Nirvana, Botch, and RL Burnside, the duo creates a sound of their own by amping up the intensity of rock and adding that mellow blues groove. While their forthcoming album does not have a release date set, I’m sure you’ll be able to catch a gist of what’s upcoming at their show on the 5th. Tickets for the show are $14 (worth every penny), so get them here while you can.
Until then, stream their newest single 'Check Your Bones' below. If you're digging it, it's also available for purchase on iTunes!
.Craft Spells show was one of the best I've been to!!! Was truly fantastic in every sense. This is a couple seconds of my favorite song Your Tomb from last nights show.
