Something i love about undead unluck, specifically andy and fuuko's relationship, is that they never explicitly say I Love You to one another.
Okay, they say it TO each other (andy in rhe spring arc after Fuuko gets captured by Under and Fuuko in the book) but it doesnt count to me because 1. Fuuko said specifically that Book Andy WAS andy but also not really (and he didnt say it back but i think thats when he began to really feel it) and 2. When Andy said "i love ya fuuko" she didnt hear him
Is it a technicality, yes. BUT my point stands that they never go "we should date" or anything because - they are partners first.
Throughout the 101 loop, people are constantly going "oh undead is fuukos boyfriend" and she doesnt DENY it, but she also doesnt accept it either. Because before they are boyfriend and girlfriend, they are partners. This becomes really clear in the Sick Arc, where Fuuko is so happy to see Andy but she goes back to doing fucking heart surgery (wild. I love her.) And lets Andy defeat him because of the amount of trust they both have.
I adore that they are partners first before they are romantic. They are important to each other ans it does tie into their love for each other, but i think it stems from the fact that they made each other better.
Andy gave fuuko another chance at life! She got to explore the world, make so many new friends, and gets to use her unluck for something good.
And Fuuko, she gave Andy's life meaning.
Like, this guy has been only thinking about death for over 200 years. He has become disillusioned with reality, and hell, when was the last time he interacted with someone that wasnt trying to kill him or he tried to kill, before he met fuuko? The person in ch 1 and the person in ch 238 are two completely different people. I can and will say the same thing abour fuuko. But anyway Andy was kinda shitty! He also hasnt talked to anyone meaningfully in years, because to him his life had no purpose. And Fuuko helped give him that.
Theres a post out there that says something like "undead unluck really put two suicidal people together and gave them meaning to life" and it's the perfect thing.
Anyway. Sorry for rambling, i love this manga. I need s2 very soon because we KNOW thats when its going to start being hype.
