Undead Unluck chapter 236: parallels and Ruin.
SPOILERS AHEAD
There's something very particular with the way Tozuka-sensei is managing this chapter. It's clear that Tozuka loves parallels, specially when it comes to Andy and Fuuko.
When I was reading some panels like the one above felt familiar. And it is because it's a parallel to the Spring Arc ending. Not only Andy is being honest about his feelings about Fuuko once again.
But he has resolved his perspectives about what death means to him and what life purpose is about. In his own Andy style of course.
But then, if you have been following the manga all the way around you can notice the pattern. Ok, so far we have the Greatest Death Ever parallel and the Andy resolving his feelings reference (with the contrast of the character development in Andy). And we know all the cast is here in the moment. Well, we probably are missing somebody arriving late to the party.
Good old Ruin.
I'm not saying he is actually going to appear last moment. But, UMA's Artifacts and Negators are going to dissappear in that order, there is still time for Ruin to come try to save the first two.
What if the story repeats itself? What if the fate that has been chasing Fuuko since Loop 100 catches her once again? (We know Anno Un prevented Fuuko's death in the hands of Under/Sean/Unseen, but not even Anno Un could predict the rest of the story or Ruin's fatal attack on Fuuko).
Or maybe I will go a little bit more delulu and say that somehow Ruin manages to kill Andy this time.
Either way, it will be super angsty if one of them two died because that means what Andy said about finding each other again in the future to create new memories and explore love again will be completely ruined (no pun intended).
No more "Find me at Shinjuku Station" kinda stuff.
Idk maybe it's not making any sense right now, however Tozuka has been unpredictable these last few chapters that I'm not saying this is going to happen but take it as a wild possibility.
Even more, because Tozuka doesn't play with his narrative and I have the feeling that all this build up parallels and happiness isn't just for the funzies.
That's it, let's wait and see what happens next chap I hope I'm in the wrongest of the theories possible. Why can't they be happy once, goddammit Tozuka.

ah, yes. gravity falls my favorite manga...
The first thing I did this morning was to read the new chapter. Tbh I always had faith in Tozuka-sensei, because it seemed pointless to have us going through all the steps for Ragnarøk all over again. Besides, didn't you guys read what Andy said? their enemies are the one who are freaking out lol.
Let Tozuka-sensei cook.
I’ve been seeing this for years and with everything that has happened lately I just have to say it
tbh I am kind of cautious about the development of the last three chapters, sorry if this is heated but I’m so tired I won’t care if you cancel me
Undead Unluck is not getting axed
I repeat, not axed
Every time something happens with UU (low rankings, poor sales at least when compared to other series from the magazine) people are so quick to say it was axed when like, I don’t think it is
Axed is normally what happens to series when they’re in the 20-40 chapters and are not selling or ranking well, they get cancelled before they can reach their true potential
Undead Unluck just released its chapter 223, with an anime season and an upcoming one hour special, two light novels, card games, lots of merchandise and probably one of the best built cast of characters and worlds to come out of the magazine as of late
It might not be the best selling thing but it’s doing fine, especially when you compare its popularity on Japan to its popularity on this side (which is almost non existent, thanks Disney)
If Jump wanted to get rid of UU that would’ve happened before its first anniversary
(Now that I think about it, the loop reveal probably saved the series)
If anything this is just rushing to Ragnarok probably for the fights or for shits and giggles idk, but when these things happen I usually trust the author with the story, so let’s see what Tozuka comes up with
