The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project // DTAFM
It should be no surprise that I'm quite the fan of comedy. One of my favorite wizards of joy is Andy Daly. My face lit up every time his name showed up on Matt Besser's improv4humans or Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang! Bang!, and any chance to see him on screen is even better. I've re-watched Season 1 of the hilarious Review with Forrest MacNeil for the fifth or sixth time and still laugh heartily with each viewing. And Season 2 premiers TOMORROW!!!
So when the call came through to work on art for his very own, but short-lived podcast, I was rather excited. Andy had the idea of him opening a treasure chest filled with the characters that would be populating his show. With that, I took to the page and began figuring out what exactly this would look like. A few "safe" text only options were supplied, but they wound up being superfluous compared to the final direction. I'm very proud of the final piece.
If you haven't checked out The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project, I would implore you to do so. I mean, that is, if you like comedy and improv and weird characters and satan and Matt Gourley and Sean Conroy and Paul F. Tompkins and Betsy Sodaro and gameshows and creepy old men who run questionable "theater programs". And laughing. If you like to laugh, listen to the show.
