Okay, one time in the tag so there’s no excuse of “not knowing”: Gideon and Harrow (and Nona) are not white. Stop whitewashing them. They are both Māori. If you’re in the fandom please rb

I see a lot of fanart of Harry admiring how cool Kim is and not nearly as much of Kim admiring how amazing Harry is!! Throughout the game he gets increasingly more impressed with him, trust is a mechanic that has actual consequences for gameplay, and I rarely see fanart of Harry getting his flowers for being insanely amazing at his job and as a person (if you play him that way)
So much of the TLT fandom is awesome and cool and sexy and hot but if I have to look at fanart of Gideon or Harrow and have to ask myself whose white baby that is one more time I might start throwing rocks
Whoever rigged, animated and drew Lucanis was so crazy in love with him. I love when it is obvious how much a character means to those who create them
charmac is the Fucking friendship ever
This is ghoulcy to me
I just finished my re-read of Nona the Ninth. After I was done boohoo crying at "life is too short and love is too long" I had a thought-
In loving Nona, everyone who loved her loved the Earth. None of them have ever been there, none of them know it as home, none of them have a connection to it other than in their humanity.
Despite that, they all loved the Earth so tenderly and fiercely.
Through all of Nona's slow starts, all her childhood whimsy and wonder, all of her endless fascination and delight with life. Despite the fact that her naivety could be treated with disdain or anger, as many people would likely do in the face of the light after a lifetime of darkness, everyone who interacted with her loved her.
Maybe they saw a glimpse of home in Nona. of course they couldn't help but love her.
Having now watched both iron lung and project hail Mary I do think that the most boring possible way to relate Simon and Grace to each other is through romance. Like don’t get me wrong, they would be insane about each other in a way more codependent than you can imagine, but none of it would be romantic.
Ryland is aroace, so that kind of love wouldn’t interest him. I do think he would be a soft place for Simon to land, and patient enough to make his way through Simon’s various traumas. I imagine Simon would be grateful, but unable to let go of the grit that helped him survive all his life. It’s that specific grit, born out of a life full of desperation, that would help him make decisions Grace can’t, ultimately propelling them further than Grace would ever dare to go alone (even with rocky). I believe Grace would find drive and purpose in Simon’s roughness, and that it would save him from the parts of him that think in circles and into paralysis.
They’re the opposite sides of the same coin, the coin representing the directions you can approach hope- in spite of (Simon) and despite (Grace). They would meld into each other, Janus style, closing the doors to the outside world to initiate a time of peace. Portals, new beginnings, time as a perfect circle; they won’t survive this, but someone will, and to them that’s worth everything.
Romantic love can’t hope to hold what these two would mean to each other.
