♔ Rebekah & Enzo —- Hope for you yet. ( @aneckperson )
cheeky as she usually was, it was almost insulting to her that enzo would think she’d joke about something like this. they’d known each other for a long time and the only thing keeping her from going off on him was the fact that she knew. she knew he was surprised, freaked out, whatever. it wasn’t planned, and she wasn’t sure whether or not it was wanted, but it was there. they’d really fucked up. “ i’m serious, ” she confirmed, gaze shifting down towards the floor as silence filled the room. “ can you maybe tell me what you’re thinking? ” / @aneckperson ┃continued from here ’
@aneckperson and I plotted a thing.
Caroline didn’t want to know what Enzo had done after he found her crying. She was sure that she would find out eventually and she was sure that it wasn’t anything good. But when he climbed back into the car, she didn’t ask. She just wanted to go home...except she couldn’t do that either. The magical boundary around the town kept her from going home. Fresh tears sprung to her eyes and she blinked them away as she began to drive. She had done enough crying, especially over Stefan, and she really didn’t want Enzo to see her.
When she felt like her voice wouldn’t crack, she glanced over at him quickly before looking back at the road. “We’re not talking about this, okay? Please,” she added softly. “If Stefan wants to stay here in the land of denial and dickness, then that’s fine. I will find a way to bring Bonnie back myself. Well, Alaric and I will, I guess. And you...?” she trailed off, looking at him.
three months had passed on like years as time drifted over her dauntingly, no one to talk to but herself. the truth? well that was easy, she was ALONE.
wandering down the beaten path, rocks skipping and scattering from under her shoe, the brunette carried on. she often wondered what her friends were doing and if they were okay, she trusted that they were in safe hands. this time, she was the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. she was here for bonnie. it was now elenas turn to give her friend a life she deserved, even if it meant that she wasn’t in it.
THERE WAS NO WAY OUT;
plastic bags wrapped around her knuckles, weighing her down slightly as she carried a few of the groceries into the salvatore home. as she moved into the dining hall, she made her way past the mirror above the mantel, only slightly noticing her figure. faint dark circles grew from under her eyes as her hair frayed slightly at the ends. as she noticed the slight changes in her appearance, a little thought FLICKERED at the back of her mind.
was this a sign of giving up? was she losing hope?
she thought carelessly, nearly shivering at the thought of INSANITY. she was so alone, and with that a sadness grew inside of her. an uncontrollable feeling, DESPAIR, ABANDONMENT, DETERIORATION. she felt as if her walls were crumbling down, unsure of how much more she could take. shaking slightly, the brunette stood in the mirror staring at herself. a numbness pressing from her toes to her finger tips.
THIS IS WHAT IT’S LIKE, TO TRULY BE ALONE.

What If?
Something that was a distant memory; something she couldn't really remember. Flashes of a face she had seen once before, a curiosity of what her father used to do. Something couldn't have been right here... this was a thought that had been shielded for so long, a thought she never thought she would think of again. Elena's life had changed, had become darker, had come with so much loss in her own little bubble of her world. The death of her parents, the constant pressure of school, the breakup with her ex boyfriend, she was trying her hardest to hold it all together though she felt like she was failing. The life she had was something she had ONCE knew, it all changed that day when she had survived the crash and they hadn't. Why didn't they survive? it all didn't make sense, there was no way she could have made it out of that car when it had sunken so deep under water. The car had gone straight off the bridge, knocking them unconscious from the hit and yet somehow in all of that she was alive and her parents were dead.
One day she hoped to learnt the truth; but the more she thought, it brought up distant memories of what her parents used to do, of moments she had, and one in particular struck her as a young girl. A man she had seen behind bars, 'why was he behind bars daddy?' the endless questions that didn't make sense and yet she still played about that house with her ball, often going downstairs to where the experiments had taken place and there that man was again. The talk they had was merely a memory that felt as though it had been erased, she couldn't even remember what they had spoken about, only that he told her not to tell.. that he told her she had just gotten her ball lost and came back upstairs again. Elena never really question after that. There was so much to learn about her family's history, so much to learn of this world. If it wasn't for her father, Elena's curiosity wouldn't be intact. Elena had this thirst and hunger to save people, to make people feel better about themselves and yet she came to a stop when she realised that she herself wasn't happy any longer.
It all made sense really; even going into school every day, she wasn't the same girl as she was before. A loss of family would do that to you. Even waiting at their grave, sitting and writing in her diary, it was a constant thing for her that you would be almost guaranteed to see her there. Walking through the school she made her way straight to her locker. The cheerleading uniform still clinging to her frame. Another failed attempt at cheerleading, forgetting the routine; after all, the summer was spent in mourning. Caroline understood and yet continued to push her anyway, until she was benched. Drifting through the halls like there wasn't a care in the world, she grabbed her sling bag and pulled it over her shoulder and headed out of Mystic Falls High. One place she was going to, one place where she would be alone. Her parents gravestone.
Upon arriving, she sat herself down by their headstones. Legs perched up, knees balancing the diary as her pen scribbled away with every flick of her wrist. Her friends hadn't asked her where she would be going, hadn't questioned if she was okay, but even if they did they would get the same answer. Elena had sworn that this was a new day, where she would wear a smile on her face, but all she could feel now was that she was falling apart. @aneckperson

Caroline hummed, hands on her hips as she left her room. She positively skipped as she made her way to the other room. The exchange student kid that her parents had just kind of kept around. He had been due back a short few months ago, but her parents liked him. She wasn’t unhappy either because he knew his way around her----- well, that wasn’t important. Just something to keep her happy and fulfilled while her boyfriend did his crap routine with tiny equipment. Enzo was the cure to all of her problems.
She stood in his door frame, teeth biting into her bottom lip. Her tiny little boy short panties and a tiny shirt that cut off at the middle of her stomach. This wasn’t new. It was fun, the dirty thing they were doing, but she could care less. It felt amazing and that was all that mattered. “Enzo, I’m bored and I have a game in a few hours. Can I come in?” She asked with a dramatic pout.
