For those who have been wondering about my 3D printer project, I finally have an update. Long story short... I fried my main board and had to order another. 8 hours of assembly followed by 1 hour of wiring ended in one fried main board because the unit ships with a power unit that is made to be compatible with both 110v and 220v power sources with the 220v selected as default. I had no idea about the hidden little switch on the power supply because the Anet A8 ships with very little instructions. So after a smoking motherboard was the only outcome I got out if 9 hours of work, I Googled the symptom and quickly found out the reason for the failure as it turns out it is pretty common. 4 weeks later, having received a new board from China, I made the time and mustered up the will to install it the second time. Next step is calibration and then test print! I cant wait! I did buy some safety upgrades as well to make the printer safer and more reliable, but those will be added later. If you have questions about what those are, please feel free to PM me and I will be happy to help. #Anet #AnetA8 #3Dprinter #3Dprinting #AdditiveManufacturing #Technology #Tech #Innovation #DIY #DIYProject #Update #LetTheGoodTimesRoll #3Dmodeling #Design
