Fashion Baby
“I know wearing a bandana over my face isn’t exactly sexy, but if it keeps me from getting sick, I think I can stand to be a bit unfashionable.” Lola’s voice was somewhat muffled, like most people she was pretty wary about even the most innocuous cold. Her siblings were off enjoying the free food and festivities, but she had tied similar masks over their faces before sending them off, as a precaution. “Besides, it’s not like it’ll keep me from having fun.”
Nova was stood with her back firmly pressed against a wall, arms crossing her chest while she aimed to resume a position of authority. She was on duty, mainly watching for any funny business that may be going on. She pointed her chin in the direction of a passerby, ready to interrogate them if need be. “Are you sure you’re supposed to be here?”
“Fuu-- You gotta be kidding me. It is way too early in the year for this shit,” Caleb glared up at the sky as if daring the little white flakes to continue to fall. As if in answer, a frigid breeze blew through the streets just then, making him groan with disappointment.
“this is actually quite fascinating,” she said, mostly to herself, as she read in the park on her day off.
A nostalgic grin was plastered on Nadia’s lips as she wandered around the courtyard. Between her buzz and the memories of festivals from her childhood, the experience was magical. She plucked a sliced piece of bread from the subsistence table, spinning to offer it to the person closest to her. “Look at all this food! And did you see the dance floor? They really went all out this year!”
Ava took a seat on the park bench, taking in the cold weather while the children played. The hospital had been busy and though she was only a trainee, the hours were still gruesome. Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt the presence of someone sitting next to her. “what a coincidence, long time no see.”
