After some consideration Jake decides to properly meet you. He convinces himself that it is for your own safety, since it will be easier to protect you if you know him and he won't need to keep hiding himself, even if you don't know his real identity.
Jake spends every single available moment thinking how he could present himself to you without it being weird or seam forced. He's so committed to the task that all the squad notices.
Javy swears that throughout the eons they have been best friends he has never seen Jake so focused on a 'mission' as the golden haired angel is calling it. He has his own suspicions of what the actual mission is.
Natasha thinks it's really amusing the way Jake is acting, even more when Javy lets it slip that he is all worked up because of you, the human he is protecting.
Mickey is curious and eager to meet the mystery human everyone seems to talk about, while Bob, the only cupid in the squad, only smiles knowingly when you are brought up by the others.
But most of all, Bradley, who can't seem to waste the chance to get on the other angel's nerves, finds himself quite intrigued by Jake's actions, and when Mickey blabbers that it involves a human, he finds a new topic to bug his friend. But who would have thought that it was in one of the moments Bradley was testing Jake's patience that you two would meet?
"So... You were really going to keep that sweet little thing all to yourself?" After following his friend and seeing you for the first time, Bradley could understand Jake's actions, you are truly beautiful.
"Rooster, I'm telling you... Back off."
"Uhm... excuse me." A soft and sweet voice sounds from behind him. Wait. Jake knows this voice, it's yours. But how can you see them when they made sure to be invisible to the human eye? Bradley's expression leaves no doubt he's wondering the same thing as the angels eye each other.
In the few seconds Jake takes to turn towards you he realizes you're closer than he thought, bumping into you and accidentally spilling all of your favorite coffee over himself.
"Oh my God! I'm so sorry!" you gasp apologetic and already looking for anything to get him dry. As the slight shock of being seen quickly wears off, Jake responds "Hey it's alright, I was the one standing in the way."
The shining pool of green your eyes meet after hearing such a melodic voice makes you timid as everything around you two seems to fade and Bradley and the busy coffee shop are completely forgotten while Jake and you stare at one another.
You softly give him your own name as he soon adds "I'm truly sorry for your coffee, can I buy you another one?" The bashful smile that comes to your face makes the angel's heart stop for a few seconds while he admires it. You nod and the two of you move to the line.
The way Jake gets you to talk seems effortless which is new for you and neither of you seem to realize the hours you spend talking, only interrupted by the time in your phone reminding you that you have places to be.
Even after you part ways the guardian angel can't stop smiling to himself because of just how captivating you are.
Maybe he didn't need a dumb plan afterall, maybe fate was on his side.
