Summary: Wanda has been showing the signs. Or that's what you thought. But as you confrot her, the reality is way more heavy. And it's on you to help her out.
A/N: Here's an idea in my ongoing angel!wanda AU I came up with last night while I was about to fall asleep, so ofc I had to make it a reality bc.. well, you know me. Enjoy!
The signs had been there.
For the last few days, you’ve noticed how Wanda tensed momentarily at certain times and then she’d straighten her posture and rotate her shoulders, as if searching for relief.
At first you thought she was overworking herself, which wouldn’t be abnormal since she spent more time exercising.
But as each day passed, you saw how she stopped sleeping on her back, tending to rest on her side or half on top of you. And while you loved the contact, you could notice the telltale that something was wrong.
Tonight, as you got back home from work, you smiled as your eyes found her on the stove, humming something completely absorbed in her mind that she didn’t even hear you.
Kicking your shoes off, you walked slowly to her, silently wrapping your arms around her waist from behind, but your heart twitched as Wanda froze in your arms and you could hear the sharp intake that took her too long for you to catch on.
“Are you okay?” You asked as you released the hold, giving her space.
“Ye-yeah, sorry,” Wanda turned and smiled, but you could see it didn’t reach her eyes. “I just got scared,” she added and you let it pass, again.
“It smells divine,” you hummed, changing the topic.
You could see through the corner of your eyes how Wanda didn’t relax completely. Not even when you praised her cooking skills nor when you took her hand over the table. Yet again, you didn’t comment on it. You knew whatever it was, she’d come to you when she was ready.
But after you did the dishes and moved to the couch to sit beside her, she tensed one again when your hand found her neck in an attempt to help her relax, like it always did.
“Okay, that’s it.” You separated, enough to put some distance between you two. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, Y/N,” Wanda sighed. “I told you, I’m just tired.”
“That doesn’t justify it.” Your voice sounded heavy with venom, and you almost flinched. “I gave you enough time to come open up with me. I’ve been watching how you became uncomfortable almost every time I touched you or when I leaned on you.”
“No, love. No, no, no,” Wanda rushed to close the distance between you, her hands cupping your cheeks. “It’s not because of you,” her thumb brushed over your cheek on a feather-light caress.
“Then what is it?” You asked, leaning against her touch.
You saw how her eyes shone with something akin to shyness, as if it weighed her to name it.
“I-” she paused, pressing her forehead against your collarbone.
You felt her vibrate against you, tense in a way that you barely got to witness.
After a few seconds, she sat upright. “Can I open my wings?”
Her voice came small, shy. As if asking for being herself could be denied.
“Oh, Wands,” you took her hands in yours, squeezing them. “Of course you can,”
She looked at your eyes, looking for something you didn’t know, but it was what she needed to finally let herself breathe.
In a gush of air, her wings stood proudly behind her, like two ethereal shields. And you could see how she relaxed almost instantly. As if something in her finally snapped free. And it probably did.
“That’s better?” You asked smiling.
“So much better,” she smiled timidly as she leaned over, pressing her forehead against yours.
Your hands found her cheeks and caressed the soft skin. “Why did you hold back?”
She closed her eyes and let a long sigh escape her lips, her hot breath mixing with yours.
“I didn’t want you to make you uncomfortable,” she confessed.
“Wha- Why would you?” You tilted your head, confused.
“I’m not normal, Y/N. I-”
“Okay, first of all, I’m gonna stop you right there.” You cut her mid sentence. “Second, you don’t have to hide yourself, baby. I love you. Wings included,” you pecked her nose, earning a soft smile.
“This is new,” she shrugged. “I’ve been around for millenia and very few people knew about them. And-” She paused and you held yourself. The few months you’ve known Wanda, you had learned to brace yourself whenever she paused for words.
“You’re the only human who actually interacted with them,” she bit her lower lip nervously.
“Wow,” you blinked twice. “I’m honoured,” you tsked as your lips curved in a smugly smile.
“Very bigheaded of you,” Wanda rolled her eyes but smiled anyway.
“You feed it,” you shrugged before you stood up, offering her hand.
“What?” Wanda eyed your stretched hand curiously.
“Come on,” you encouraged. “I’ll make it better.” You took her hand and pushed her up, almost dragging her to your room.
“Very straight-forward,” she mumbled but didn’t offer resistance.
As you reached the bed, you dropped her hand and ordered. “Your shirt goes off. Lay on your stomach.”
“Woah. You didn’t even buy me a drink,” she raised her eyebrow.
“I’ll buy you one next time we go out. Now, on the bed.” You pushed her lightly as you moved through your room, looking for the mint oil you had somewhere in your drawer.
“Okay, now,” you turned around and stopped suddenly at the image in front of you.
Wanda lays on your bed, upper body bare and her immaculate wings adorning her skin beautifully. And you realised right there you’ve never seen anything more majestic than her. Your eyes have never seen such a sublime creature.
“Y/N?” Wanda’s voice snapped you from your mind, noting the tight grip you had on the small ointment.
“Right, sorry.” You mumble as your body takes a while longer to match your brain.
And the smirk on Wanda’s face makes you crave into your intrusive thought and you spank her buttcheek, earning a strenuous laugh from your girlfriend.
“Feisty,” she allows herself to relax as you straddle her waist, sitting on her butt as you work a few drops of the oily liquid in your hands before you start to massage her back.
The first moan was pure sin. Yet, you forced yourself to keep going.
Your fingers worked through knotted muscles and nerves, pressing hard enough for Wanda’s noises to be a mix of moans and cries.
“This feels so good,” she almost whined and you swallowed hard.
“I’m glad,” you managed as you continued your task at hand, kneading through her body, allowing her to relax under your ministrations.
Your knuckles ran up and down her spine, being careful not to hurt the base of her wings. And as the muscles around it started to relax, you saw how her wings flapped slowly, contentedly, bringing a smile to your face.
“You should never hide them,” you broke the comfortable silence. “You’re safe here,” you assured her as your fingers traced the shape of her wing cartilage under her skin with just enough pressure to pull a heavy moan out of her.
“It’s hard to move with them,” she managed between breaths.
“We can adapt the apartment,” you offered.
“You’re too nice,” you heard the smile in her voice.
“You deserve to be unapologetically you,”
You released startled gasp when, in a quick, swift motion she flipped you over, sitting on top of you as she trapped you under her.
“Wands,” you found it hard to swallow. The wicked smile on her face had you almost squirming, as her majestic wings served as the perfect shelter from the outside world.
Your eyes moved down, to her exposed chest and back to her eyes, finding her smirking at you.
“You still want me to be unapologetically me?” The teasing in her voice had you biting your lower lip.
“On one condition,” you found yourself babbling, trying very hard not to roam over her naked torso.
“What’s that?” Her voice was a few notches lower as she leaned down to brush your nose with hers.
“You- You can’t-” you paused, somehow it was getting too hot around you. Or was it inside you?
“I can’t, what?” She smiled dangerously as she pecked the crown of your head before she started to kiss your face slowly. Your cheek, your nose, your chin. “Use your words,” she commanded when you couldn’t suppress a small moan.
“You have to hide them in the shower,” your words were rushed, nervous.
Wanda stopped a few millimeters from your lips, leaning back as she looked at you before she released a guttural laugh that rumbled through you.

A/n: I need to give the biggest thanks and a whole like of credit to @wandamaximoffsbadgirl She was a major collaborator on this fic. Pretty much writing half of it with me. This is the prequal to Roles Reversed. I have for so long wanted to write more in this AU and with Ley's help I was able to fill in the parts I was struggling with. I definitely have many more thoughts to this AU and hope so share more soon. This is how the two cuties met.

The night is like any other, the bar is bustling with regulars and a ton of new faces. You own the best bar in town so it's nothing new, but you love it. The interaction with people and getting to do something you love. Wanda walks past the bustling bar but stops in her tracks when she senses that tell tale sign of a demon. What could they be getting up to in such a busy place? She has a bad feeling about this. Rage takes over as she makes haste into the bar.
You're laughing behind the bar with some of the regulars, leaning forward as you laugh at some stupid joke one of them told. You see the door open, rather than hear it, as a beautiful woman walks through. “Hey! Welcome to my bar! What can I start you with?” You call out over the voice and music. Wanda studies you, you seem too nice to be such a wretched demon. She doesn't answer which has you raising your eyebrow. “Whenever you figure out what you want just give me a holler.” You sling your bar rag over your shoulder and get back to some other patrons. Wanda takes a seat at the end of the bar and studies you. Her senses only point you out, but how is she supposed to confront you in front of all these people?
You feel Wanda’s eyes on you and try to ignore it as you get back into your rhythm. Moving around the bar and eventually when she doesn't order anything you set a water in front of her, leaning on the bar. “So what's brought you into my little hole in the wall?” You question the beautiful woman in front of you. She eyes the drink with skepticism and looks back up at you. “Seemed like a busy place.” Was all she said. You feel the hostility and anger pouring off of her. So you just give her a smile and a nod.
As you notice you're running low on ice you let the other bartender know you're heading to the back to get more. Wanda takes this opportunity to follow you. You didn't notice her following you until you've been pushed into a supply closet. Her arm is pressed against your neck as she pins you against a wall. Her foot kicked the door closed behind her. “What do you think you're doing?” She seethes. You're confused until you catch out of the corner of your eye your tail nervously flicking back and forth. That is when it clicks, she's an angel.
You try to get out of her hold. Are all angels this strong or have you just grown weak? You finally decide it's no use and instead put a hand over hers. “Please calm down and I can explain.” You use your power of taking anger to calm her down. As she became calmer her grip loosened on you until you were able to lower her arm. “Listen, I came here to have a good time. I just want to run my bar and keep out of trouble.” You tried to explain and though her hand didn't come back up again you saw it in her eyes, untrustworthy. “Why should I believe in a demon like you?” She seethes. You raise your hands in surrender. “Look, you can stick around and watch me if you like, but I have work to do.” You gently squeeze by her to not anger her more. You get the ice and head back to what you were doing. You feel her eyes following you all night.
“Dude what the fuck!” You hear screaming as a fight breaks out. You quickly jump over the bar and make your way to the fight before it escalates to an all out brawl. You take a punch to the face, splitting your eyebrow, but you get your hands on them and take their anger and de-escalating the situation. “Break it up boys. If you wanna fight, it won't be in my bar.” Wanda almost jumps up as she watches the blood run down and into your eye, forcing you to close it. She grips tightly onto the bar as she fights her body on running to you. Once the two guys apologize and everything settles you head to your office with the rag over the wound, holding it.
Wanda once again slips past and follows behind you. As you sit down in your chair she stands in the doorway. You look up at her from your seat. “Yes?” She rolls her eyes at how you fail to even help yourself. “Let me.” She takes the rag and forces your face up so that she can clean you up.
It's silent as she patches you up. “That was stupid of you.” You look at her bewildered. “Was I supposed to let an all out brawl happen?” Wanda huffs a little knowing you're right. “No, but you didn't have to take the punch…” She holds onto your face after patching you up. Looking over your features for a moment longer before you ask. “Do you wanna go out sometime?” It spills out of your mouth before you can stop it.
Fear crosses your face as you realize what you said. You had never been so close to an angel. You had heard of their beauty but she was far more beautiful than you had ever expected. “You don't even know my name sweetheart.” Wanda pats your cheek and walks away with a wink. She takes her place back at the bar as you sit there dumbfounded. “Shit.” You mumble as you scramble back out to the bar.
You spend a good chunk of the evening stumbling over your words in front of her. As the night progresses and she talks with you she wonders why she was ever worried in the first place. As you stumble over yourself once more Wanda interrupts you. “Wanda.” Your brow furrows. “Huh?” You question. She chuckles at you. “Wanda. My name. You still haven't asked it.” Your face goes completely red as a smirk appears on her face. “O-oh...I'm y/n.” A chuckle rolls out of her mouth and you get butterflies at how beautiful it sounds. “I figured that out since this is ‘Y/N's bar’.” She reminds you and somehow your face turns more red.
As the night draws to a close and most people have left Wanda watches as you clean up. Her chin is propped on her hand. “I'll pick you up at 7.” You look up from where you are cleaning. “W-what?” She chuckles. “For our date. I'll pick you up at 7.” Wanda leans over the bar and kisses your cheek before she walks out the bar. Her hips sway as your cheeks turn red and your mouth hangs open. But you recover running after her. “You don't know where I live.” You call after her. She turns around with a raised brow waiting for you to tell her. You ramble off your address for her before she walks away into the night leaving you shocked and excited.
You wake up excited and ready the moment your eyes open. As the day progresses you worry slightly which turns bigger and bigger as the time gets closer. You're all dressed up and ready as you pace back and forth. What if she was just fucking with you? What if she didn't actually want to go out with you? Wasn't she supposed to hate you? Angels and demons aren't meant to be together but what if you can. You have never been like the others, your brothers were some of the best out there but you loved humans, so maybe this would be okay.
7 rolls around and you are anxiously waiting outside for Wanda. To your surprise she pulls up in a red car. You don't know how she could look more beautiful but she does. “Wo-wow.” Was all you could stutter out.She smiles at you. “Come on get in I made reservations.” You do as told and get in. “Reservations?” You ask on the way. “Oh yeah I know the owner of this place. A really nice place and told him I needed a table tonight for a date. He happily found me a spot.” You blush realizing she had planned things out and your worries started to melt away.
When you get there your jaw drops in shock at the place. You have heard about it and how amazing the food is. You have tried to get a reservation for months and couldn't get in. Wanda sees your surprise and grabs your hand. “Come on pretty girl.” You can't help but blush as she pulls you forward. “Wanda you didn't have to.” You breathe out as she opens the door for you to head inside. “I wanted a sweetheart.” She walks to the hostess and whispers in her ear. You feel shy and awkward as you wait to be seated.
Wanda just met you yesterday and she was willing to do all this and all the nicknames and compliments had your head swimming already. Wanda is already loving how easy it is to fluster you. You aren't like any other demon she has met. So intriguing, soft, and she can tell so submissive.
Wanda takes your hand again and leads you to your seat which is one of the best in the restaurant. She pulls out the chair for you which surprises you but you sit. She rounds the table and sits across from you. At first you're so nervous and shy but as time passes you start to loosen up. A very stark contrast to the person behind the bar last night. The conversations are easy and two hours doesn't feel like two hours as you finish a shared piece of cake. It's a huge serving and so sweet you almost feel it rot your teeth, but you loved it. The way her face lit up at every bite she was taking of it was worth it. You let her have the last bite as the waitress comes back with her card.
“Thank you Wanda.” Your voice is low and soft. You look down as another blush covers your face. Wanda hooks her finger under your chin to make you look at her. She has a soft smile on her face as she speaks. “You are so welcome detka. Now let's get you home.” You smile and nod. The both of you make your way out of the restaurant and Wanda drives you home. This has been one of the best nights of your life and you desperately don't want it to end.
When you get to the door of your house you chew on your lip a moment before asking. “Do you want to come in?” Wanda smiles sweetly at you. “I'd love to continue this date.” You can't help but get giddy and a little bit of a happy jump as you open the door. Wanda finds your excitement adorable as she follows you inside. Your home is very cozy, not something you would expect from a demon but it's so very you. “This is very cute sweetheart.” You smile. “Thank you Wands.” You test the nick name a bit hesitant but when she smiles at you in approval it makes you that much more giddy.
You both get comfortable on the couch and start talking. Eventually the topic of your features comes up. “I'll show you mine if you show me yours.” Wanda says making you blush as your tail comes out, flicking back and forth slowly and your horns come out. Wanda does this, almost shake as her wings come out. Bright beautiful white looking so soft to the touch. You don't know how she keeps doing it but the more you see the more beautiful she becomes. You're hesitant to ask and you can feel your fingers twitch in a need to just feel them. She notices and smiles. “You can touch them if you like, but if you do I want to feel your horns.” Like most of the night your blush intensifies. “Deal, but uh my horns can be a bit sensitive.” You tell her.
Wanda raises an eyebrow at you. “Sensitive, hm?” She asks not giving you time to answer as her fingers brush lightly over them. You feel your body heat up, leaning into her touch as your mouth falls open, a small moan leaving your lips. Wanda bites her lip at the sound, a demon had never sounded more angelic.
Wanda is surprised by the softness of your horns. She expected them to be rough but the smoothness to them is nice as she runs her fingers up and down the ridges. As her fingers dance across them you feel your breath quicken as your chest turns the same color as your cheeks. It all feels too much but oh so good at the same time. Your mind is growing fuzzy at how good it feels.
It had been so long since the last time you felt like this, but you knew this fuzzy headspace you were being put in. “W-Wands…” You manage out, your pleas going unheard as she carries on stroking your horns, your hot breath filling the space between you two and then it slips out. “Mommy please…”
“Yes little devil.” Wanda hums her response but she is still so entranced by how beautiful your horns really are that she doesn't fully register the situation. And by the time she does it's too late. You let out a whimper and moan as you cum unexpectedly. Your eyes shut as your thighs tremble slightly. Wanda instinctively wraps her wings around you in a protective manner. It isn't until you feel her wings around you as you come down that it sinks in exactly what just happened. “O-oh my god.” You pull back from her. “I-I'm so sorry. Fuck.” You can't help but feel tears filling your eyes at the thought of ruining everything.
Wanda pulls you closer, her wings wrapping around you. “Shhh dorogaya you've done nothing wrong.” She soothes you by rubbing your back. You feel so warm and safe in her arms. You wonder for a moment if she could take your worries away because it certainly feels like she has.
“I-I didn't know that would happen. It's never happened before.” You mumble against her. Wanda gently pulls you back so she can look at you, her wings still around you in a protective embrace. She cups your cheek and uses her thumb to brush away a stray tear that had fallen. “If I'm honest, I found that super hot.” You should be over her boldness by now but it still shocks you as your whole face heats up now. She can't help but chuckle at your current state. “How about we get you cleaned up and we can maybe continue this date with a movie? How does that sound?” You nod with excitement. “That sounds amazing Wands.”
As you're about to break apart Wanda speaks up. “I loved it when you called me Mommy.” Everytime you think you're done blushing she's turning you a new shade of red. You can't even look at her as you ask. “Y-you did?” She pulls your chin back up to look at her. “Yes detka. I did.” A smile spreads across your face. Your tail flicking and hitting against her wings.
Wanda leans in kissing you. You melt into her instantly. This must be what people mean when they say they felt fireworks. Your kiss with Wanda ignites something new within you. It's like nothing you have ever felt before. When you finally pull apart Wanda smirks at you. “Don't think I've ever made someone cum before I kissed them before.” You whine and hide your face in her neck as she chuckles, getting the two of you up and putting her wings away so as to not knock anything over as you two go to the bathroom to clean you up. Wanda is so good about it and helps get you out of the clothes you had picked out for dinner and into some comfy pajamas. You offer her some which she happily takes.
The two of you decide to stay in your room and watch a movie on your bed. Wanda's wings coming back out and wrapping around you like a blanket. Wanda insists that your horns stay out even though you're worried about hurting her with them. She wants you to be you in your own home. No need to hide away or worry with her. She has already made up her mind that she will protect you no matter what.
She never expected walking into that bar last night would lead to you but here you are. A demon like no other, the perfect missing piece to her puzzle.
A/N: Remember my fic staring Angel!Wanda? Well.. Here I share you another story in the same AU. Promise it’s not too painful.
Or, the need to revive this AU and @wandabear ranting over her with me, provided an idea based on Masterpiece by Madonna and made me do it. Enjoy!
Weeks passed since Wanda finally revealed her true self, and your love for her only grew stronger.
Having a feathered girlfriend could be both, a blessing and chaos. Luckily, the last happened behind closed doors -if you ignore that event a few days back.
And you were fine ignoring it. As if it never happened.
But as the blearing thick letters on the screen confirmed the hidden fear in the back of your mind, your heartbeat started to pound in a not-so-good way, silently begging Wanda to hurry back home. Like a secret prayer to a weary God.
Granted, the face of the suspect wasn't revealed, which gave you some sort of tranquility. Yet, the small voice at the back of your head kept coming up with possible outcomes if someone ever knew about Wanda. And you couldn't -won't- let anything happen to her.
Nothing's indestructible.
Caressing her cheek, you admired Wanda's sleeping form. A true work of art made of flesh and bones and wings.
And boy, were you lucky to be the chosen one.
She might've saved you time after time, it was only fair you took care of her.
Your heart ached and healed at the same time when at the end of the night, you were the only one by her side. Every night.
Your insides filled with pride knowing you were worthy enough to be the one who made her laugh, who held her while she opened up, who dried her tears. You were the one she let her walls fall down for. You were the one who got to love her in every aspect of the word.
Yet, you were the one who hurt so painfully because after all, every thing that breathed could be harmed.
And God forbid you to witness that. Even after your time had come.
"Your thoughts are loud," Wanda mumbled as she snuggled closer.
Looking down, you stared at her almost quizzically.
"Sorry," you leaned down to kiss her forehead, melting at the sound escaping her lips.
Muffling a yawn against your chest, Wanda rolled over, pinning you down. "What's on your mind?"
You sighed at the worriness in her voice.
"Is it about the news?" She pushed after a few moments of silence.
Absentmindedly, you could only nod.
Like every time she looked at you, you couldn't help but wander into those forest orbs of hers. As if your lungs craved the oxygen needed to function and it was something to find exclusively in her eyes.
You smiled at the feather-like kisses she peppered your face with.
"I'm safe, baby," she vowed, joining your foreheads together. "I'm right where I'm meant to be."
Opposed to Wanda's intentions, her words only served for you to open the water gates of your eyes -heart- as your arms locked her in place, right on top of you, as you hid your face in the crook of her neck.
The pain only grew when you heard the gush of air around you. The tingly sensation was forgotten as a lightweight settled above you.
Wanda's heart broke at that confession.
'If only your wings protected you too,' you cried to yourself.
"Y/N," the brunette repeated herself sternly only to smile something bittersweet when you peeked at her sheepishly, tears escaping your eyes.
"Only two things can kill me," Wanda spoke vehemently, brushing away the tears with the pad of the thumbs. "One is locked in heaven. The other one is right in front of me." The brunette confessed confidently. "And I know you will never do it."
"Look at me, Detka," Wanda commanded. Yet, you refused to obey.
Because she knew. She's known it since the first time you looked at her.
The way your eyes admired her, made her feel like the Mona Lisa. Something so priceless and unique to be kept at reaching distance.
And for the majority of her life, she's felt like a caged creature. Always hidden, repeating the same lie to every new nosy human that crossed her path. In every new place she moved into, she repeated the same lie over and over to the point she started to believe it.
Until you came.
A -clumsy- nosy woman with the spirit of a child. So full of life that it made Wanda want to know you. Really know you.
That's why she couldn't help her body's instinct to shield you both with her wings at the sight of your body in a such fragile state.
Hopefully, they'd work their charm and calm your thoughts. But every passing second confirmed it didn't work.
"You're mine to keep," you whispered, warming her heart.
She understood your worries. She had them, too. But she never acted on instinct when she was out in the open world. She's become a pro at hiding her nature.
"I'm yours to destroy." Wanda joined your lips together, sealing an unspoken pact in that painful, yet reviving, kiss.
Because even if Wanda had given you her heart in a silver plate to stab whenever you wanted, you took it and secured it in a crystal box, safe from all the harm of the world.
If you liked it, please comment or reblog (Let me knoe if you want to be in a taglist)
And it was right then, right there where you swore your soul to protect her.
She was your masterpiece and you made it your mission to make her indestructible. At any cost.
As the feeling grows, she breathes flesh to my bones

"Cookies? Are you bribing me with cookies?" You looked at her incredulously.
Wanda almost retorted but she appreciated her life too much, so she brought the cookie -the same she's just offered you- to her mouth to keep the words from escaping her.
"I'm just saying," she continued once she swallowed. "There's no reason to go all Sherlock Holmes about it, baby. I told you plenty of times I've got the scars from an accident."
"Don't baby me, Wanda. Stop lying to me and tell me the truth once and for all."
Wanda could feel the baby hairs of her neck standing at the hard attitude you sported and she had to breathe deeply to keep her secret appendages hidden. No matter how tingly her shoulder blades felt, you couldn't see her true nature. Not now, not ever.
Walking towards the brunette standing right in front of you, you made sure your steps didn't falter. You needed to stand as still as possible.
"I- I can't," Wanda looked everywhere but you.
"Why not?" You pressed. "Why can't you trust me? I thought we had-"
"It's not about trust! This isn't something we can discuss lightly, Y/N. This is some next-level shit that you're not ready for." For a moment, you saw Wanda's eyes flicker with something you couldn't pinpoint, and boy, did you felt menaced. But then again, she's saved you from a thousand situations before and you knew she was incapable of hurting you.
"How do you know that? Do you really think I'm gonna run away? For fuck's sake, Wanda, we have weirder things happening around." You finally closed the distance that separated you both. "Show me."
Wanda's eyes opened wide as your words sank in.
"Wanda," you took her hands in yours after seeing the fear in her green orbs. "I want- need to see them," you brought her hands to your mouth, kissing her knuckles softly, silently apologizing when she hissed. You made a mental note to change her bandages later.
"Are- are you sure?" The doubt in her voice made your heart squeeze. How could she ever think you'd stop loving her?
"Please," you begged.
Whatever you expected the moment to be, it was nothing compared to what happened. You were too dumbstruck to even try to find words.
One moment -human- Wanda was standing in front of you with her forest green locked with yours and the next, the most beautiful thing you'd ever seen appeared out of the blue. The biggest, whitest pair of wings encompassing Wanda from behind got you so hypnotized that you couldn't register the single tear running down her cheek.
Bringing your hand up, you brushed your fingers impossibly softer against the feathers -scared you'd ruin them if you applied even the slightest pressure, so entranced at the moment that you didn't notice the way Wanda tensed under your scrutiny. The brunette almost moaning at the sensations she was feeling.
"They're beautiful," you murmured, scared that if you spoke louder, the spell would fade away.
A few beats of silence passed by before you managed to take your eyes off the wings to look at Wanda. And oh boy, what you saw shattered your heart and glued the pieces back together. "You are beautiful." You cupped her cheeks drying the tears away, smiling at Wanda's broken laugh.
Wanda could feel her heart wanting to jump out of her chest, her ribcages doing nothing to stop it from growing at the pure utter love she saw in your eyes. The adoration you spoke those words with was enough to make her want to punch herself for always escaping your interrogations. How dare she doubt your love?
"I love you," she vowed the only words she could muster, leaning against your touch.
Instead of replying, you kissed her in that way she could feel her toes curling and her blood running in her ears. It was always like this with you.
"Ow!" you tried to part away when something hit the top of your head but quickly wrapped yourself around Wanda. "WHERE'S THE FLOOR!"
Wanda seemed to come back from her reverie at your scream, a sheepish smile on her face as she slowly settled down back to ground level. "I'm sorry,"
"Did we just... did you- Oh, my God!" The realization hit you at the time you let out a burst of strenuous laughter. Your stomach still feeling weird after the descend.
You felt the arms around you tightening its hold and Wanda's face moving to the crook of your neck. Kissing the exposed skin there.
"Thank you," you made sure she could feel the love and support in your words. And did she felt it if the squeeze on your waist was indicator enough.
"I'm sorry," you smiled when you touched a certain area of the right wing, making her squirm with a laugh.
"It just tickles," she mumbled against your neck, eliciting a giddy giggle when she wiggled her wings. You swore you'd never get enough of them.
And not that you complained about it. If nothing, the wings added something to her that made you fall in love all over again.
As the moments passed, you felt her sobbing against your skin, her hold never flaking. It was as if she needed this contact.
"What's wrong?" You cooed and saw how her wings surrounded you both as if she wanted to seclude this moment of vulnerability. Just the two of you.
"I'm just happy," she kissed your cheek so softly, yet so lovingly that got you turning into mush right there. "I'm sorry for hiding this."
"Baby," you cupped her cheeks, locking your eyes together. "I know," you smiled. "I can't even understand what's going through your mind right now, but I want you to know that I'm here. I've always been, and I always will." You kissed her cheek, then her nose, then her lips.
"Nothing can scare me away, Wan. Not when it comes to you," you vowed and saw in fascination how her green eyes reflected all the love and loyalty she held for you.
"I'll put them back in now," she warned timidly. Her voice shaking from the utter emotions she was feeling.
"Do they hurt?" You asked and she smiled reassuringly at the worry on your voice.
"A little," she shrugged it off. It hasn't been that long since she's pulled them out, anyways.
"Would a cookie make it better?" You smiled that something that got her on cloud nine and she couldn't help but kiss your nose before agreeing to it.
No. Maybe it wasn't ideal. Her falling for a human who was bad news most often than not... but for her, it was enough. The fact you've finally stepped your foot down and didn't run away when her wings we finally revealed to you, told her everything she needed to know. You'll always be her little troublemaker. And she knew you had her heart in your hands the moment she saved you. How couldn't you, if for every step you backed, you made two steps forward just to make her happy?
