Getting his hands on something to eat had been his top priority. His stomach had been growling and, god, he needed something to eat. Going somewhere to actually buy food though? He didn’t have the money, nor knew how to deal with the whole exchange of it either. So, he relies on old methods, familiar things.

Rummaging through garbage isn’t a first, though he misses having something given to him. Food he knows that wasn’t just tossed away but unopened and fresh. Such a luxury that has left his grasp. It makes him wonder if he should just find a restaurant and search through their scraps instead.

And just when he’s found something, leftovers of a burger that’s already being pushed into his mouth, he hears something, sees a shadow pause. Someone’s caught him in the act and he looks up to the person. Does he looked ashamed or bothered? No. He looks more annoyed to someone interrupting him, even lets out a growl. “What are you lookin’ at, huh?”

“Mm, you tell me.” The soft, smooth voice surely didn’t protest when the leash was tugged, eagerly stepping closer to the stranger with his ears pricked. 

A sly smile and half-lidded eyes graced his features, the fluffy tail swaying behind him. “You’re not half bad yourself, champ.” It was a teasing tone, obviously joking because this attention was nice.
