I would love to know more on “Steyliff”! I think it’s interesting that you chose the coward king cause it goes to show the royal line wasn’t always amazing despite having access to powers. Plus I like that you had noctis being able to understand the ruins and ignis is immediately like yes we should find a way to record it. Cause that would be me!

This amazing piece of fanart by Angelbless inspired Steyliff. First time I saw it, I *knew* I had to write something. And then we were chatting about how it’s like a scene from FFIX (I won’t spoil it in case you haven’t played it, Anon!), and it just grew from there.

Originally, I thought I’d just have some kind of nasty dead spirit lingering, but I chose the Coward King because I found all the information on him during my research on Steyliff. It all slotted into the fic beautifully! And then I thought it’d be fun to have Steyliff, a place that’s supposed to be a peaceful shrine for souls to move onto the afterlife, be haunted by a dead, daemonified and seriously pissed off Oracle! And of course Noct would be the only one capable of hearing her because of his heritage.

Ah, Ignis. Always thinking beyond the obvious. If only they’d had the time to translate the whole place!
