What I imagine when I see the Latin name of the common angelshark

ACEO posting! These are watercolor cards (sold in pairs) of the Marine Stamp series. I was really inspired by the cute art often found with redbubble stamps and stickers online, and being someone who is an advocate for wildlife, I wanted to create an aceo series for marine animals. The animals depicted are: lobster, tuna, angelshark, squid, humpback, and pufferfish! 🐡 all follow the complimentary color schemes (red/green, yellow/violet, and blue/orange)

The cards are made on 140lb cold press watercolor paper using a mix of watercolors, gouache, and POSCA metallics.

All cards are posted for auction on my EBAY account novagaleaceo ! All purchases are given an authentication, thank you card, and for this series, a fun fact of the animals you choose :3

Hard to get photos of living individuals where they aren't buried in sand/silt/etc, enjoy photos of these fellows lying in wait for their prey to approach.

Eats bony fishes, squids & octopi, and sometimes smaller sharks On the extinction scale they are vulnerable and declining population.

Angel shark

critically endangered and declining :( third most endangered family in the elasmobranches

Sharktember with @requinoesis's Sharktober prompts! Angel - The angelshark is flat like a ray, but unlike rays it also has enlarged pelvic fins and cone-shaped barbels on its face. It spends the day hidden under the sand and emerges at night to search for bottom-dwelling fish, crabs, and cephalopods.
