Sunset Farm
When we were looking for schools in the area, I posted a question on the Castelo Branco group on Facebook and got chatting with another mom who as it turns out also has a 13 year old son. She friend requested me and I’m not sure if it’s because we are both saffas so just get each other but before you know it we were whatsapping each other daily. As it turns out Angie is also from SA and moved to London in 2001 before moving to Portugal a year ago. She helped get the house we are staying in and she has been a great source of help and advice as they are pretty much a year on in their journey. We got invited to their place in Pedrogo São Pedro for a braai (cooked on the stove as fires are illegal this time of year due to fire dangers) as they have just moved into their forever home. I was a bit hesitant at first as I’m not great meeting new people but my fears were for nothing as we all really get on like we have known each other all our lives! We laughed about such silly things and really have so much in common. Jason & Tim also clicked and they were nattering away all day too. Angie has made it her mission to find us a place in Penamacor now so we don’t move away lol. We went there for lunch and ended up leaving at 10pm (maybe that’s just how the franciscotts roll 😂). Cruz and their son Cuy also get on really well so it was so heart warming to see Cruz being himself and joking and having fun as it’s been a long year with him being the odd one out. We took a walk on their land at sunset and wow we can really see where it gets it’s name from. Absolutely breathtaking ❤️
