So with the Crowley was Raphael before he fell idea so what about an AU where the reason the angles are so harsh on Azhiraphale is because they all KNOW Raphael was crazy about him!! Like even pre-fall he was smitten and pining and all the arch angles know (they all teased their bother constantly)
Only they don't know Crowley was Raphael (they think he is dead or lost)all they see is Azirapahale loving a demon and that’s just wrong when their brother loved him so much and he didn't even notice, when their brother hung the stars in the sky for him, made constellations all for him. and yet he chooses a demon.
Bonus: Angles hurt Zira and Crowley saves him only for archangels to realise who he is and just how badly they have fucked up!
