If life was perfect, Izuku would have woken up. He'd be perfectly fine from the jump. His mother would change her ways and love him unconditionally. Kacchan would stop bullying him, and be his friend. He'd protect him. He'd be able to talk to his soulmates and they'd love him. They wouldn't care about his past and they'd all meet up and run away together. His depression would disappear and he'd have his happy ending…...
But…. life isn't perfect. Life isn't fair. Nothing good comes that quickly, or at all, to Izuku Midoriya. He learned a long time ago never to hope…..
Shouto groaned as he woke. He opened his eyes, facing the ceiling. Like he had since he got that head injury. It had been almost a week since then, and he was starting to think it wouldn't go away. It hurt to think about that. His soulmate. The person who would love him always might be dead. He sometimes wondered if it was something he did. Had he been the reason his soulmate ended his life? They only talked for about a year before he disappeared.
Tears welled up in his eyes. He knew he shouldn't think about such things, but as a full week was about to pass, he couldn't help but feel down. The door to his room creaked open and his sister entered his room. She gave a weak smile.
"Did you sleep well?" Fuyami Asked as she came to sit on the edge of the bed. She placed a roll of bandages on the covers. He nodded, sitting up so she could change the bandage on his head. She slowly began to remove the blood-stained fabric from his head. She paused, inhaling sharply.
"S-shouto…" she muttered quietly. He looked at her, a glint of hope in his eyes. Her own eyes were wide.
"W-what? Fuyumi?" He asked, confusion lacing his words. He hoped. Hoped and prayed for her next words.
"Shouto, Shouto its gone! Y-you've healed!" Her voice was higher than usual, but it was happy. She brought her hands to her mouth, but he knew she was smiling. Shouto couldn't move, couldn't even make a sound. He was overcome with so many emotions he couldn't react. He feet tears push past his eyes and he just couldn't suppress a giddy squeal.
"He's okay! H-he's alive!" He half-shouted. He ran a hand through his hair, not feeling any warmblood or his own fleshy brain.
"Y-your crying!" Fuyumi squeaked.
"Happy tears, happy tears!" He reassured. His sister nodded, a bright smile on her face. She ruffled his hair before standing.
"I'm gonna go get breakfast started," she picked up an icy blue gel pen from his desk and tossed it to him. "You can have a talk with your soulmate" with that she left the room, a bounce in her step
Shouto eagerly ripped the bandages from his arms. He felt a rush of relief when he saw purple ink scribbled on his arms. 'Shouto? Are you okay? You're being pretty quiet. Shou the wounds healed you know what that means!!!!
'Hitoshi! I've been fine, just a little tired but I'm much better. Are you okay? And yes, they're okay!'
'Now I know your alive and well' came his immediate reply. Shouto smiled softly and heat crept up his neck. He missed this, he missed Hitoshi so much and he didn't even realize. '<3'
'Hitoshi I missed you so much! It's been so stressful I felt like I was gonna die!'
'Yeah, same. But at least they're okay. We'll find them soon.'
Green ink appeared on the back of his hand. It seemed to be a phone number, with the words 'call me' them under them. He quickly wrote 'I got this' before jumping out of bed. He felt his head spin but tried his best to ignore it as he searched for his phone. He finally found it and dialed the numbers.
2 rings…..."Hello?" Came a voice. It was a female, a young woman. Her voice sounded soft. "I-is this my s...son's soul mate?"
Shouto nodded slowly. It was only then that he realized she couldn't see him. "Yes. I'm his soulmate!" He said quickly. She hummed. "I-is he okay?" He asked tentatively
"He's alright. The doctors said he should wake up soon." She huffed. "L-look. I called because I feel as if I owe you an explanation and an apology. C-could you bring your other soulmate on?" It sounded like It was painful for her to say that last part. He hummed, putting her on hold and dialing in Hitoshi's number.
"H-hello? Shou" came the tired voice of Hitoshi shinsou.
"Hey, Greens mother's want to talk to us. About Him…" Hitoshi hummed. Shouto to a deep breath as he pressed the join calls button.
"Hello, I've added him to the call," he said, sitting down on his bed.
"Ahh, okay. Well, I might as well introduce myself. My name is Inko midoriya. And my son is Izuku Midoriya. A little less than a week ago, Izuku jumped off his school roof."
"W-wha….." Hitoshi muttered quietly, surprised and unnerved.
"It's because i-i-" she seemed to burst into tears. "I was a horrible mother!!! I-i never said any-anything about the bullies or that h-he was depressed. I-i just kk-kept him away from you because I was afraid."
Shouto felt his lungs stop working. "Y-you kept him away from us!?" He shouted angrily. The woman, Inko, only sobbed harder.
"I- I didn't know what else to do. H-having more than one is so strange and I didn't want to be ridiculed for anything else about my son."
"So you take from him something so important! Don't you know we were hurting too!? You have NO idea what kind of shit you put all of us through!" Shouto was seething, shouldering shaking from rage. How dare she! She took from them the only thing they'd ever love...And she had the audacious to call and as for his forgiveness.
"S-sho! Please, calm down. There's no need to get so angry at her. Just talk ..." Hitoshi said quickly, trying to defusing the situation.
"I'm sorry" Inko sniffled softly. Shouto growled with even more hatred and
"Well, I don't forgive you!" He hung up and tossed his phone across his room. He Fell back onto his bed and grabbed a pillow. He held it over his face and screamed.
"Breakfast's on the table." Came fuyumi's voice. He sighed, sitting up. Shouto still wanted to screen, but maybe some food would soothe his nerves. His legs still felt weak when he stood, but he chooses to ignore it as he stalked into the kitchen. Sitting on a nice plate sat eggs and bacon.
Shouto slid into a seat and ate, thinking about his soulmate. Izuku……Such a pretty name. What did izuku look like? He wondered.
Hitoshi sighed as he walked. His feet making soft thumping sounds against the gravel. He smiled as he saw a familiar head of red and white. He walked over to the boy, who was passing back and forth in front of a bench.
"Shouto…." He muttered. The boy turned on his heel, facing him with an angry expression on his normally stoic face.
"T-that woman! Hitoshi, how could you side with her??" He half-shouted. Hitoshi held his hands up in surrender.
"Shouto, as angry as you are… that's our soulmates mother….. She's realizing her mistakes and trying to fix them ..."
"So what?! She still did screwed up things to Izuku! Sorry won't fix shit!"
"If endeavor tried to fix up his act, would you instantly forgive him?!" He panted, glaring at him.
"Shouto you're missing the point!" He walked closer and grabbed his arms, forcing him to face him. "No, I would never, EVER, forgive endeavor for what he's done to you. But that doesn't mean you should be comparing her to him. I'm not saying I fully side with her, but I don't hate her. I just want to understand. Shouto, please, just listen."
The duel-haired boy just stared at him before burying his head in Hitoshi's chest. He didn't say anything, he just gripped the front of his tee-shirt. "I love you Toshi" he mumbled.
"Love you too." Hitoshi kissed the top of his head, a gentle smile on his face…..
"Izuku I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry baby!" Izuku held his mother in arms as she sobbed. He was crying too, be he was founded on his mother. It was strange, she never cried over him, never Apologized…. It was in his wildest dreams…But he couldn't bring himself to be happy. His mother abused him for almost 10 years, and yet she thought an 'I'm sorry' would fix it……
"Izuku…" she pulled back to cup his face in her face, wiping a tear from his cheek. "I've hurt you so much, and I promise I'm going to make it up to you. I understand if you don't forgive me…. But I want to show you I love you. Izuku I really do love you" Inko's eyes held a determination that was unmatched.
Izuku hugged her as he began to cry, overcome with emotion he hadn't felt in years... Love
