"THE ARRIVAL"

Born in Shiga, Japan, but now based in New York, Dragon76's energetic work explores the coexistence of opposites such as "past and future, stillness and motion, and evil and justice." With wall space more limited in Japan live painting events are more common and, being comfortable working fast in a live setting, Dragon76 used victory in a New York Art Battle to propel his career in the U.S. Oahu-born Aaron Martin, aka Woes, got into graffiti through hip hop and was inspired to take his creativity to a new level while exploring the new art movement on the mainland. Best known for his Angry Woebot pandas, Woes is not only a prolific painter of walls but has met with success in galleries and with his toy designs. In 2018 Woes and Dragon76 teamed up on this fabulous mash up for @PowWowWorcester painted at Chandler Magnet Elementary School at Chandler and May Streets.  @dragon76art/  @woes/

“LYONS, TIGERS, AND WOES. OH MY!"”

Born on Oahu, Aaron Martin, aka Woes, grew up in Southern California and Nevada before landing back in the Islands. Woes says he discovered graffiti through hip hop, Saturday morning cartoons, kung fu, and comic books—a combination that apparently led him to create the trademark Angry Woebot characters that have made him a fan favorite. Former Creative Director for @UrbanOutfitters, Brooklyn-based Kevin Lyons has worked with a Who's Who of major brands and already has an Emmy under his belt for work with PBS. On paper Lyon's whimsical characters probably make little sense sharing space with Woebots, but the collaborations between these two artists seems to elevate both of their work. In 2017, painting together on Brewster St for the annual @MuralsInTheMarket festival, they tied this collection of Detroit characters together with an homage to the local sports teams on the roll-up, executed by @Pro_Gress, but sadly that has since been painted over.  @klyonsnatborn/  @woes/
