WIP Wednesday 🪶

Have a little something from my most recent WIP while I try not to topple the pile over:

“You have ten seconds to tell me who you are and how you got in,” he warns, tracing the sharp angles of his brooch. “Otherwise, I will have no choice but to kick you out myself.”

“Wow, wow, no need to be such a jerk! I live here too, technically!”

Next thing he knows, the fan is steady in his hand — pointed at his enemy’s throat.

“Who,” Argos hisses, every sense on high alert, “do you think you are?”

He takes a step forward, reclaiming ground; the lookalike has the decency to back up, bumping against the crisper.

Something trickles through the brooch: not fear, per say, but offended confusion. And then there’s the pain, raw and sharp and inexplicable — betrayal, like a knife to his chest.

“My name is Claw Noir,” the ghost whispers, or perhaps pleads. “I’m your cousin.”

All Left AU

So you just found the all left au? and you wanna know more about it? well strap in and get ready for some angst my friend cause here's a list of everything you need to know!

First up we have to mention the AU’s OP, @sabertoothwalrus with her Original post. 

Then we have some more takes on it: Take 1, Take 2, Some crack, Ok back to angst, one more angst, and then a bit of complaining, with crying.

And now that the 2 of you have been acquainted you can attempt to go back to your day but fail because this is too angsty to deal with. Now who wants to help me deal with @thefreshfrogwizard for coming up with this horrible idea.

How about Adrien seeing his Mom for the first time after the Coma?

(Ooh, this is a good one.)

In ideal circumstances, he wouldn’t be doing this by himself. His father would be here, his emotions carefully in check on his face, but all too clear by the way his hand would tremble on Adrien’s shoulder. Joy. Relief. Love.

But his father is in prison for his crimes as Hawk Moth, crimes he committed in the name of the woman who now sat rosy-cheeked and waiting in her private hospital room for her family to come greet her. Crimes that amounted to nothing, in the end, because Emilie Agreste was healed thanks to Ladybug.

So Adrien is alone.

He steps forward, a grown adult now but feeling like he’s the same age when he saw her last. When she turns and smiles at him, her gaze heavy with the missed years and the regrets she must hold for how everything turned out. Still, she reaches for her son, and he is drawn to her touch like metal to a magnet. He lets her palm settle against his cheek and there are soon tears in his eyes.

“Oh, Adrien,” she murmurs. “Don’t you cry, now.”

He wipes his eyes. “Sorry. I’m sorry. I just...I missed you, Mother.”

She doesn’t say anything more, just opens her arms up for him, and he falls into her embrace without hesitation. Her body feels smaller, but her arms are as warm as he remembers, and the feeling of her heartbeat next to his own is the most comforting thing in the world.

It’s kind of late, but I’m really feeling some Adrien angst tonight. Anyone got some angsty prompts for me to write tonight?

thinking about how Marinette must have done so much to comfort Adrien after the finale. She probably realized just how bad his home life must have been and did everything to make sure he knew he was loved.

Rainbows and Tar

(I’m having some feelings so here’s some Angstdrien.)

Sometimes, Adrien wishes he could bottle his emotions and put them outside of himself. He thinks they might be trapped in his head, under lock and key the way his father likes it, and maybe they’d have more room to move around if they had their own space, when his own body feels so full.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense to him, thinking of it that way, but the thought comes nonetheless, unbidden, weirdly comforting when he imagines placing such a bottle on his desk. He imagines they’d have colors that blended together like a fluid rainbow, that they’d crest and fall, waves of pinks and blues and yellows. They’d reach for him whenever he was near and he would touch the bottle in kind, like saying, I see you, and I always will.

He likes thinking of the bottle because inside, the emotions don’t feel so crystal-clear and bright. Inside, they feel muddy, grays and browns and blacks, thick and sticky when they try to surge upwards and he chokes, like he’s trying to swallow tar.

I’m angry but I shouldn’t be.

I’m sad but I can manage.

Maybe I was selfish.

Maybe I misunderstood.

Maybe I’m the one who needs to be kinder.

And he imagines, again, the little bottle sitting on his desk, a rainbow glowing in the sun, free from the doubt that wants to bury it in darkness.
