My Opinion on;

Character in general: I like Shin. He went from being this reserved, standoffish person who’s almost given up on the world to seeing the value in caring about things. That’s some real character development, especially when so many people could have just as easily had their oc thrown into midgar and do anything else, you CHOSE for Shin to be homeless and feel the repercussions of actions both ShinRa and AVALANCHE wrought unto this community. It gave him reasoning for his personality negatives, and also to be closed off to people because capitalistic hierarchy would still be reinforced in Edge I think. 

How they play them: Again, you chose to put Shin in a rough situation that makes you have to look at him as a character in a different light. I’m sure personality wise he would be very different if he hadn’t started off homeless in our threads, but it also showed the real struggle that comes with trying to rebuild society after a catastrophic event like Meteor. I love this idea that he had met Aerith and had been friends with her, but then never knew what happened to her. That thread we did where Tifa had to confront her death and help someone else confront it, in a soothing and supportive way, still stays with me. Bereavement is something that’s hyped up in the ff7 community but isn’t always explored in further depth. So I love how you play Shin because through him and your writing you give bigger questions beyond just what your character can get from another. 

The Mun: You’re incredibly sweet and thoughtful, and I love how every time I come back you are always there to show up and ask to rp. Someone so open like that is rare to come by, and I appreciate you immensely for always being willing to rp with me, even though I’m not on consistently like I was before in college :)

Overall Opinion: I adore this rp blog a lot. There are tons of reasons I listed here already, but I forgot to mention an incredibly important one that I’m not sure anyone has told you yet. It might be because we’ve rped a handful of times over the course of years, but Shin mun! Your writing has really improved!!! You’re describing more of what’s around Shin and expressing his feelings in different ways, through physicality or the senses. That’s super exciting to me to see such big writing changes like that, and I’m just like??? Super proud of you??? It also inspires me to keep improving too :D

Tone firm, and hands behind his back, Roy kept his gaze locked on Shin. Normally, he let the Investigations department handle these affairs on their own. Even without Hughes, they were more than capable of handling their own workload. But, as soon as he saw who they bought into Central Command, he decided to lend a hand.

"They are a bit more difficult to see from the city, but you simply must know where to look," Sonia advised him, pulling the blanket she'd stolen off her sofa tighter around her shoulders. Part of the appeal of Shin's cabin in the woods, besides the fact that it was the perfect setting for a horror movie, was the fact that on any clear night, the stars glittered in the sky, shining more brilliantly and beautifully than any city skyline. Tokyo was loud, constantly moving, and never seemed to quiet down. That included the artificially-lit buildings and billboards, which if she stared at them too long (especially after one too many glasses of wine), made her head hurt.

He seemed even less likely to maintain a positive opinion of the city. Beyond her flat and any work-related business that brought him there, Sonia doubted Shin would travel to Tokyo by his own volition. So she was determined to show him that the same splendor of the country could be found in an urban landscape, but perhaps not on the street. So with the help of her secretary and personal security, she'd commandeered every pillow in the condo to be brought on top of the roof, a simple endeavor as the Novoselic Royal Family owned the penthouse. Arranging them over a fleece blanket with several more to keep warm, she'd finished it off with bowls of curry and Parmesan cheese popcorn before insisting she had something she needed to show him before pushing him up the stairs, through the gray door, and onto the roof of her condo building.

"The stars are almost impossible see from the street, but I find that if you look in hidden places: the top of buildings, small alleys, and the like, you can find nature is still all around you in Tokyo," She continued, reaching for a few kernels of curry popcorn. She'd had it made as best as she could to replicate the Disneyland version, and while it was free of butter it was still pretty good. "So you're never really alone. The country can be found here, and plenty of possible friends."

Sonia smiled, settling back into the pillows. She was being obtuse though it wasn't on purpose. She wanted to get to the point, that she'd be graduating from university soon and would be moving home. And she worried that once she left, her friend would sequester himself in his cabin and never leave, missing out on all the wonderful people of the world just waiting to meet him. That idea was too painful for her to bear, so she'd need to encourage him, to help him, while she still could.

Fujiko inwardly groaned, though she smiled sweetly to the man rescuing her. Was he even tall enough to reach the ropes? For a man being that close to her, and the thief entirely at his mercy, he seemed rather...stoic.

Almost a refreshing change. Almost.

She really needed to learn to cover all of her bases before sneaking into government facilities, though. Her client had given her half of the reward in advance and it already was a very generous sum in exchange for a thumb drive with military secrets. A few replicated keycards, a smile, and a tight-fitting uniform, and Fujiko had gotten to the computer she needed to in less than thirty minutes after two weeks of scoping out the facility. But the last layer of security had escaped her, when she’d tried to leave and tripped one of the lasers meant to shoot intruders on sight. She’d jumped away unharmed, but not unaccounted for.

And those guards? They had a sense of humor, not only putting her in a cell but tying her up, hands above her head, as they did their “jobs” and frisked her. Something they were also completely inept at, as they’d patted her down but hadn’t considered the fact that her loot wasn’t balanced atop her breasts but nestled deep between them. Pathetic, she’d thought, after a few dizzy grins and gentle grabs of her chest, hips, and chin. They’d found the knife and the gun she kept hidden in her boots and yet not her actual prize.

Fortunate, but then they’d gone to bed leaving her tied up like some sort of slave. Those military types, the moment there was a promise of a meal and venturing off base, they forgot their prey entirely.

All except one, who had seemingly stolen the right key and was now working on the knots around her wrists. “Aren’t your superiors going to punish you for this?” She asked with a curious smile. “Or can you not sit by and watch a woman be treated so cruelly?”

Bearer of family secrets, the eldest of the Hatter trio never found herself unacquainted with strangeness and abhorring matters. Sullen eyes were witnesses to atrocities that blunted her naivety. Unfazed by eccentricities and human horrors already at the age of eighteen, still growing into the cruel world, she developed into an internally reactive but physically sound person.

Seated across the table on a tall stool, the tip of her shoes barely able to brush against the floor, Sophie is courteously resigned from speaking. Eyes rarely flicker from the sight before her, her mind unwinding and listing off all that she’s seen and all she’s internalized. All of that and...

Drizzled chocolate on pickles was not one she was sure she could keep herself contained about. 

"It is certainly a snack,” and it was one that was making her stomach churn and crumble from the inside. “Haha,” a dry laugh soon leaves, her body meek as she watches how casually he eats the poison he calls a ‘snack.’ 

The thought of the textures left her toes curling in her shoes. Her eyes almost glaze over at her realization that she lives in this horrible reality -- where Shin believes chocolate-dipped pickles were a great snack. 

"No, no, no,” the words came out rushed and impolite.  “Thank you for the offer,” she clears her throat, “but I must decline.” 

“I must admit, sweets and I never meshed well..” Besides, of course, being a remarkably picky eater after years of barely finding sensible nourishment from her guardians. Her palette isn’t as culturally adjusted to the latest fads or popular foods. But, she is sure whatever he’s made is not one of them -- or so she hopes.

The skillfully knit beanie almost exuded warmth to the touch, tightly woven with enough give to withstand peak 3dmg turbulence. Upon closer inspection, the patterns holding the garment together were intricately elegant yet subtle and would be worth a fortune on the market. Especially now that the outside air began to bite.
