The drawings of (canon) monster kids and monster teens will return as scheduled. The only reason it was interrupted was because I have created yet another OC for a Hanna-Barbera production.
So there’s a Hanna-Barbera show that’s not Gravedale High or a Scooby-Doo production that also has monster teens, and that show is Drak Pack (aired in 1980). The premise of the show is best summed up in the opening (which I will link here). The even shorter summary of it is that three teens, who are each a descendant of a classic monster, team up to fight crime / a supervillain organization. Yes, the three have monster transformations and everything.
And that’s where this little lady comes in. She’s also a descendant of a monster, seeking to right the wrongs of her forefathers. But unlike the Drak Pack, she’s also adopted an actual human alias instead of just calling herself “Specs” all the time in public.
Sandra Kemp is one to mostly keep to herself. She’s still a bit new in town. She considers herself a scientist (her favorite branches of science being optics and chemistry) and likes brainstorming inventive solutions to problems. Communicating said ideas can be a bit difficult for her. (And no, I’m not talking about her height.)
Specs is a crimefighting superheroine, one who would like you to think her name means something else than it actually does, thank you very much. This may have to deal with the fact that when it comes to stopping criminals, her methods deal with illusions and misdirection. She also goes after the more “small-time” criminals: still hardened criminals, but not supervillainous or supernatural. Again, she has her reasons.
Specs’ main powers are fully disappearing at will and limited assisted flight. Her boots and belt are actually rocket boots and a controller, respectively. But pretend you didn’t hear that, because it’s all part of her whole “illusions and misdirections” motif.
