…I apologize in advance. (This one will have a part 2 once I get to the last minicat request!)
Pairing: MinicatNumber: 23Prompt: “I fell for you without even knowing it and, jesus, does it hurt that you can’t see it.”
“That was such a lame party.” Tyler’s complaint was common when it came to any event Brian held, but Craig still played his part.
“What was so bad about it? The food was good.” Because Brock was a Christmas God, and could make the best holiday ham. Gordon Ramsey would probably be jealous. But he knew that wasn’t what was bothering his best friend.
“Because that horndog Brian wouldn’t stop trying to get me under the fucking mistletoe. It was annoying as shit.” As if feeling the remnants of their friend’s kiss, Tyler growled and rubbed his palm against his cheek. “Then Evan started to join in, and I’m pretty sure I kissed every idiot I’ve ever wanted to punch in our fucking group.”
“You kissed everyone.”
“Exactly.”
“Are you sure you’re gay? Because most guys wouldn’t complain about that kiss Panda gave you, gay or otherwise.” He laughed to hide the bitter edge of pain that licked at his heart when catching the hint of pink that glowed under the streetlight they passed. Snow had started to fall on their trek back to where they’d parked their cars. Brian and Brock’s apartment complex had no parking, making the two use the library lot two blocks over.
“I have standards. I don’t just go around kissing everyone.”
“Come on, all of them couldn’t have been terrible.” The clenching of his heart in his chest between his question and Tyler’s scoff was too painful to bear for more than a moment.
“They all sucked. But I didn’t kiss everyone, now did I?” Mini’s breath quivered when he pushed it out, knowing the implication behind the aggressive question.
“Hey, I just was doing you a favor.”
“By saying you’d rather kiss Nogla than me?” Tyler asked, rolling his eyes. “Yeah, thanks for that embarrassment.”
“It just wasn’t the right time,” He answered, knowing if he dropped his gaze, Tyler would pick up on his nerves.
“Last time I checked, there really isn’t a right time to kiss your best friend. Anytime you do it, it’s just gonna be fucking weird.” He knew it was coming, but it still hurt. Mini’s tiny flame of hope doused itself as quickly as it lit, making him quicken his jog down the stairs of the parking lot.
“Then it doesn’t matter why I refused to kiss you.”
“Course it does. You didn’t care about kissing Nogla. Nogla.” In any other situation, Mini would have laughed. But here, feeling too vulnerable, his armor cracked.
“Just drop it, Tyler.” He tried to rush his pace across the empty parking lot, but the snow made it too dangerous for him to run without slipping.
“I know it’s not cause you think I’m ugly or something. And you like kissing.”
“Tyler, seriously-”
“What, worried you’re gonna actually like it?”
“Yes, you idiot!” Mini’s voice shook as he yelled out the words into the snowy air, hard puffs of white billowing from his lips from how loud he’d gotten. His limbs shook from the effort and cold, his heavy panting muffling the Christmas music from one of the buildings around them. Tears rushed into his eyes, but he didn’t try to stop them from spilling down his cheeks. After every kiss, every ‘harmless’ exchange, he’d been in pain, leaving his heart aching and damaged by the end of the party. He wanted to go home, wanted to bow and break under the pressure of being ‘okay’. Mini needed that almost as much as he needed his stupid friend to realize the truth. “I didn’t kiss you because…because of how much I wanted to. How much I always want to kiss you.”
“What the…what the hell are you talking about?” Tyler whispered, and Mini laughed despite the pain in his throat.
“You didn’t realize, huh? I guess I can’t even get mad; up until two months, I didn’t either. I fell for you without even knowing it and-” His breath came in through a sharp gasp at the disbelief echoed in Tyler’s eyes, his hand gripping over the front of his shirt. The pain was hard to smile. “Jesus, it hurt you can’t see it. Because you’d…never see me that way.”
“Mini-”
“I need to go.” Craig didn’t wait for the heartbreaking rejection, hands scrambling to open the door of his car. He made quick work of starting the engine, peeling out of the parking lot.
He didn’t look at the rear-view mirror, too scared of what it’d reflect in Tyler’s face.
It was a surprise that Tyler even heard the comment among the cacophony of noise that filled the London Train station. He already felt as though he was losing his hearing from walking among the crowds; shouting, calling, the train alarms and overhead announcements. It was overwhelmingly loud and it was only making his head spin more than it already was as he tried to understand the paper map in his hands.
It was there that he met Craig.
Blue hair, big bright eyes and a lollipop on his tongue. The man had been sitting on the bench, a little girl on his lap, eyes set on Tyler where the tall man stood confused and struggling to find his way.
“I’ve seen you walk past at least three separate times,” the British man had explained, standing and hauling the little girl onto his hip. She babbled, not looking old enough to know real words yet and the fond smile Craig gave to the child had warmed Tyler.
He had introduced himself, lended a hand, and happily led Tyler to the exit of the huge station, calling him a cab and getting him on his way. It was the simple act of kindness that had saved Tyler another hour of stressful wandering and it took him several days to get that cheeky smile out of his head.
He definitely hadn’t expected to see the stranger again and the look on Craig’s face when he ran into the American at a bar told Tyler that he definitely hadn’t expected it either.
The Brit bought him a drink and Tyler drifted from his brother-in-law’s circle of friends to instead share his night with the blue-haired stranger. By the end of the night, they felt far from strangers; more than a little tipsy where they sat slumped in a booth off to the side.
Craig had spent at least twenty minutes talking about his daughter; Bella. She was eight months old and her mother had up and vanished after leaving the baby with Craig. But there was no sadness in Craig’s voice; only pride and love as he drunkenly rambled about his little girl and how she was the centre of his life.
Tyler found it more than endearing. Craig was young for a single parent, but that definitely didn’t make him a bad dad. Tyler knew.
It took the Brit ten minutes to convince Tyler to follow him onto the dance floor; though he remained horrified at Craig’s dancing throughout their little party. They were in their own world surrounded by others; simply blank faces Tyler didn’t even notice. He was too focused on the smile before him; wide, happy, beautiful.
The night swallowed them up and Tyler allowed it to, accepting the body heat that Craig shared with him when the Brit danced into his space, laughing and beaming as he shimmied his shoulders and tried to convince Tyler to twerk. In one night they had lost the title of strangers but Tyler didn’t know what had replaced it.
They found themselves out on the streets together, giggling and snorting at each other’s stupidity. Craig flashed his ass at a passing car and Tyler spent five minutes coughing on his knees because of his own laughter. It was one of the best, strangest nights Tyler had had and when he reached Craig’s apartment, Craig didn’t even say anything about inviting him in. He simply opened the door and walked in, and Tyler followed.
They didn’t have sex that night. Tyler had had his fair share of one night stands but this wasn’t what that was. They spoke in hushed voices because Bella was asleep in the other room and when Craig paid off the babysitter she left them to their own devices. When Craig crawled into bed, still snickering at how Tyler had walked into the doorway instead of through it, it was, again, unspoken. Tyler simply followed, flopping down on the bed and cuddling into the warmth. Craig’s breath smelt like the sweet cocktail he’d been drinking at the bar and his eyes looked like amethysts in the dim room.
They laid side by side, face to face, for what felt like years. Tyler didn’t know when Craig’s hand found his or when their legs had become linked together. He didn’t know when Craig’s eyes had drifted to his lips.
He didn’t know when he’d started leaning in.
He remembered the moment that he kissed Craig perfectly. The Brit’s fingers were already in his hair, pinkie finger rubbing little circles behind his ear, and Tyler had never seen someone look so beautiful in the seconds before their lips met. Craig’s lashes fluttered, unsure whether to stay shut, and the pink that darkened his cheeks only slightly could have been the alcohol.
He couldn’t help himself. “You confuse me,” he whispered into the darkness, letting the words lay prettily against the Brit’s cheek.
When Tyler kissed him it was unlike any first kiss he’d had. It was gentle, not forceful, and the Brit took it from him, not with greed, but with modesty. Tyler shivered when Craig pressed in closer, a hard pressure between their mouths before he eased back and let a soft sigh escape his lips.
Tyler cupped his face and kissed him again.
He couldn’t tell how much time was passing and he didn’t care for it either. He didn’t care for anything but Craig; but the fingers in his hair, the lips against his, the brush of laughter that he released when Tyler nudged their noses together.
He knew that this was more than just one night as Craig fell asleep curled up against him, and he fell asleep with a smile on his lips. He had never been more happy to be confused in his life, if confusion meant sweet midnight kisses and being touched like he was worth more than diamonds.

AU: CelebrityTrope: Childhood friendsPrompt: "Are you sure this is legal?“ and/or "It’s been so long since we did this.”
Pairing: Minicat
“Are you sure this is legal?” Even drunk, Craig felt like something was off about the ‘no trespassing after sunset’ sign that hung on the lifeguard post they were walking by. His feet felt light, though he was sure it was the shots he’d taken at his party. Well, it had been labelled his party, though he didn’t know most of the people his manager invited. The house’s music was pumping in the distance, but Mini was dragged further away by… someone. “What’s your name again?”
“Hunter.” The guy seemed annoyed by the question, and Craig wondered if he’d asked it before. To be fair, he’d had to get to know a lot of people’s names that night, and alcohol didn’t help matters. Also, he really didn’t know where he was at the moment.
Well, he knew the city at least. L.A was still the same as it’d been twenty years ago, when he’d thought he ran the streets on his bike or his surfboard. Now, after winning the NASL cup and being crowned MVP, he really did own the city. That was why he was having the dumb party with those people he didn’t know or care for. Why some guy with a stupid name was dragging him like a two year old’s ratty blanket, no care or concern for his well being. But really, did anyone these days? When was the last time that someone actually talked to Craig about something other than money, fame, or what he could do for them?
His eyes closed slowly while he was dragged along, hearing the waves of the ocean crashing into the shore. His feet had lost their shoes, maybe along the walk to the sand, and his toes dug in with a familiar joy. This felt like home, not that stuffy expensive house that overlooked the city. The salty air, the water, all of it was so reminiscent of his childhood. How many nights had he spent on a beach like this? Searching for shells, building bonfires, finding the constellations and trying to figure out his place in the world. That had been some of the best years of his life, staring at the endless sky to remind himself that he was just so small in the grand scheme of things.
But the best part he remembered was him. The boy with grubby cheeks and a scowl who turned into the teen with rough hands and angry blue eyes. The one person who asked him for nothing. Nothing but his company. When Craig thought he had nothing, he gave Mini everything he needed to reach his dream. Craig wished he could have done the same back then.
Maybe now, too, if his drunk heart had anything to say about it.
“Freeze.” The voice that called out the command sounded familiar, but Mini’s brain was too sloshed to fully grasp from where. The hand that had been wrapped around his wrist was gone in an instant. It took Craig a moment to open his eyes again, and he caught a glimpse of the back of the man (Henry? Harold?) who had brought him to the beach running out of sight. It took a moment for his body to realize it was on its own, and then the world started to tilt. His arms tried to stabilize him by flailing out on either side, but it was the firm wall that his back bumped into that kept him from falling. Slowly, Mini blinked, letting gravity pull his head back to gaze up at the owner of the chest keeping his upright. His eyes were blurred a bit, partly from alcohol and the slant of his glasses, but even with the smeared vision, he picked up on some of the man’s features.
Why’d this officer have to have blue eyes like him, too?
“You’re…really pretty.” His words fell out without any chance of filter stopping them, but he was too drunk to mind. Everything was just right for a moment; the music in the background was lower now, and the warmth on his back felt like a comforting blanket. The ocean breeze had chilled him, and while his first companion hadn’t hesitated to leave him cold and alone, this stranger seemed fine with Mini pressed against him. Hands that might have grasped his hips to keep him standing were the right side of rough, large and just so familiar-
“Craig?”
“That is…is totally my name.” He laughed at his own answer, head fluffy with memories and booze. He didn’t mind slipping deeper into his daydream, letting the water and cold of night sooth his wounded soul. He knew this wasn’t him; the police officer’s badge dug into his shoulder blade, and he could see the flashing lights from the cop car parked somewhere behind them. He wasn’t that lucky. But the cop was built just like him; tall and scruffy, but soft despite the large body. Prickly, if he got any hints from the scoff that brushed his ear. But he hadn’t dropped Craig, which meant he was probably just as caring and kind on the inside as…Mini squeezed his eyes tighter, leaning back into the officer holding him. But when he spoke, it was for someone who was miles away. “God, I missed you.”
“What are you doing out here?”
“Iunno. Some guy dragged me out here for something,” he murmured, hearing a growl of annoyance that made him smile.
“You idiot, what kind of answer-”
“It’s been so long since…since we’ve done this.” He didn’t care if his pathetic mumbling was spilled to a reporter and plastered on a tabloid next week; he just needed to let it out. Years of longing, being alone in a crowd of thousands, searching for his breaking point. Decades of just not knowing where his life was headed, or when he’d stop spinning so high, when he’d crash and burn into the ground. Who would stand by Mini in the wreckage?
He would have, probably. Because he had given Craig his nights and attention before anyone even knew his stupid name. What would he think of Mini, now?
The decade of radio silence gave the answer he didn’t want to hear.
“Everything okay down there? Need me to come help haul him to the car?” The call of another officer from the beach’s side road threatened to break the dream-like state of Craig’s moment, and he groaned in protest before pressing closer to his source of warmth.
“Nah, I’ve got him. No need to call it in.” But just like his old friend would have done, this officer, this stranger, had protected Mini.
“Do ya now? This one’s special to ya, is he?” There was a tease somewhere in the tone, but Mini didn’t open his eyes to investigate.
“Shut up, Hanby. Take a drive down the rest of the road and see if anyone else is around. If you can find the punk who bailed when we pulled up, cuff him. I know where this idiot lives.”
“How are you planning on getting home after helping your new friend out?”
“I was off the clock ten minutes ago; I don’t gotta tell you shit. Now get moving.” The banter was swimming in Craig’s ears, but the thumb that brushed against his hip bone melted his brain too much to butt in.
“Oh, there’s definitely a story here. Be ready to share it with Fong and Del over coffee tomorrow. Can’t wait, buddy.” A warm laugh echoed against the night sky when the other officer moved away, and Craig’s ear picked up on the rocks shifting under the car’s tires when it pulled away.
“Fuck, he’s almost as big of a pain as you.” The words were sharp and warm against Craig’s ear, and he felt his body shudder from something deeper than the cold.
“God.” This cop even sounded like him. His eyes burned behind closed lids as he let out a wet laugh, nuzzling his nose into the collar of the officer. Maybe it’d get him arrested for indecent behavior in public, but he smelt like smoked wood, motor oil, and him. Or what he’d smelt like as a teenager, maybe. The details were so fuzzy now; was he just blending this person with his past to make himself feel better? Mini’s mind sloshed over new thoughts like waves, barreling into the shore of his reality with no intention to break.
“Let’s get you home.” But before he could take a step, before the stranger could finally break the final thread of Mini’s mirage of happiness, he spoke.
“I miss him.” A sob pushed out over his laugh, head useless against the tense shoulder behind him. “I miss us, how we…sat at the ocean, talked and…and…I just felt loved, maybe. Not like now. I don’t know if he ever felt…it’s been so long since…since I’ve been happy. You just feel like love, mr…mr. officer-sir-man. You feel like Tyler, and it’s…been so long since I’ve seen him. Since I’ve had him by my side. My whole side’s missing, it’s…he’s gone. And here I am, drunk and probably arrested and in love with a ghost. Tyler would hate me now-”
“Shit.” The grip around his waist tightened for a moment, but Mini didn’t mind the squeeze. It grounded him in a way nobody had in years. The alcohol was doing a bang up job of messing with his head, as it tried to convince him the officer’s next words were mumbled against his forehead. “Brock’s gonna be impossible to deal with when he finds out he was right. Fuck.”
“Hey, I…I have a Brock, too.” Craig laughed and then slumped, a crest of fatigue finally rolling into him. “He’s always right, good guy. He’d make a good wife for me.”
“Wait, what-”
“Cept can’t marry him when I love Tyler. Life would probably…be easier if I just forgot him. But, I can’t.” He yawned and accepted he’d end up in the cell by the morning, giving all his weight to the officer holding him. “I’m gonna pass out now. Thanks for…being here.”
“I should have been here before, idiot, I-.” Whatever else came next, Craig didn’t hear, his mind slipping into sleep.
He didn’t know that Officer Tyler Wine carried him home. Not to the house with strangers, but to his mother’s house three miles away. The one right across the street from the house Tyler himself had bought from his parents three years ago. He didn’t know Tyler was still in his city, still driving their streets, still sitting on their beaches, reminiscing. He didn’t know Tyler had refused to reach out in case Craig no longer needed a local boy that didn’t shine in the limelight. That he’d ignored their friend’s advice, kept his nose in his work, pretended he wasn’t missing a part of himself.
And Mini didn’t know that he’d still be there when Craig woke up the next morning.
Ugh, so hard to chose. I can't decide if I like 39 Minicat (with possible smut huehue) or 17 H2OVanoss more. So, I guess just pick which ship you like to write more. XD
kinds of kisses
h2ovanoss drabble17. kisses for the purpose of tasting person B’s hot chocolate on their tongue
-
“You could have maked me one, asshole!”
Jon followed Evan into the living room with a pout and a glare. Evan’s smile didn’t fade as he sipped his hot chocolate and took a seat on the couch. “You can make yourself one, lazy,” he teased back, raising his brows at Jon who sat beside him and stuck out his bottom lip.
“Well! Well, you could have made me one when you made yourself one so that it took less time to make two instead of one!” he rambled, waving his hands around in exasperation. Evan laughed quietly into his mug and took another sip of the warm deliciousness.
“Then you should have asked me before I made one.”
“You didn’t say you were making one!”
“Why else would I get out the cocoa?”
Delirious spluttered. “Don’t- Don’t sass me, Mister!” he pointed a finger at Evan whose grin widened. “You know I like- like the way you make them. I put too much… too much milk or water and then not en- enough milo so it’s all water and gross and- and- You do it better!”
Evan took it all in with a guiltless smile, nodding along and taking another sip. “My hot chocolates are the best hot chocolates.”
“Exactly!” Delirious exclaimed, planting his hands on the cushion between them and leaning forward with his suspicious glare. “So you should have made me one too!”
Evan chuckled but didn’t bother with a response as he flicked on the TV. He ignored Delirious’ stare as the other eyed him and then eyed his mug. “Can I have some of yours then?” he asked, leaning closer and peering into the half full mug.
Evan pulled it closer to his chest with a frown. “No,” he said, taking another sip. Delirious tried not to notice how he flicked his lips out. Was he tasting the chocolate reside on his lips? Did drinking hot chocolate make your lips taste of it? Or your tongue?
Delirious felt his stomach twist with something other than curiosity and the craving for hot chocolate only grew. “Please?” he asked, batting his eyes at Evan who watching him suspiciously.
“No, weirdo. My hot chocolate,” he said, taking a long gulp. A droplet of the chocolatey drink slipped over his bottom lip but he caught it with his tongue. Delirious felt his fingers twitch.
Before he could even think it through, he pushed forward onto his hands and knees, leaning over Evan’s mug and landing his lips on Evan’s. After a second he lifted one hand to balance against Evan’s shoulder, head tilting to get a better angle. A pleasant shiver ran down his spine as he sucked on the Canadian’s bottom lip and tasted that perfect hot chocolate. He hummed happily as he licked at it before switching to his top lip and memorising that taste. Before he could pull back, fingers gripped his collar and Evan’s lips melted against his. The prod of a hesitant tongue; Delirious wouldn’t dream of denying it. He parted his lips and welcomed Evan’s tongue into his mouth, licking at it eagerly.
His tongue tasted even stronger than his lips and Delirious’ second hand jumped up to Evan’s cheek, pulling him closer and licking into his mouth. He didn’t notice the soft moan that he pressed to Evan’s mouth until Evan stilled beneath it, shoulder squaring beneath Delirious’ fingers.
The older man dropped back onto his heels, breath short and eyes not moving from Evan’s. The mug of hot chocolate remained forgotten in the Canadian’s hands and Delirious took a moment to lick his lips and blink.
There was so much that could go wrong, so much that could get weird, but the taste of hot chocolate on his tongue had laughter bubbling up out of his throat. Evan’s eyes widened further and the blush on his cheeks made Delirious’ chest squeeze. “Yep, I want a hot chocolate,” he declared, sitting back against the arm and grinning. “Tastes just like a Canadian fire!”
Evan’s laughter erupted with the ridiculousness of the statement and Delirious admired the way his eyes creased. “That doesn’t make sense!” he said and Delirious giggled. “You can’t taste fire!”
The two laughed and Delirious couldn’t stop himself from sitting forward again. He pulled the mug out of Evan’s hands and the Canadian didn’t even stop him. He let his head fall to the side, dopey smile on his face as he flickered his attention between those rich brown eyes and those pretty pink lips.
“I can taste you,” he said, and it was Evan who pushed forward to kiss him again.
Dead? Nuuuu, that fandom is just... In zombie mode rn. XD It'll be back... Eventually. Pfft- Anyway, hows 'bout 36, or 38? Or all three if ya up for it. :3
Haha is that right? I mean I hope that it can get itself out of zombie mode then!
36) Which is your favorite site to post fic?
I love A03 honestly. It’s just so smooth and I feel like it’s a really neat site. I use tumblr for little things like drabblez, but if I do get around to posting my Virus fic (or my experiment fic cause I was reading the outline of that today at the gym and boy do I wanna write that) then it’ll be on A03 and I’ll just announce it on here.
38) Talk about a review that made your day.
Okay I don’t know if this really counts, but whenever @mssjynx or @personfullofplotholes goes through my stories pre-me posting them and comments on them. Like, just their reactions and words of affirmation are so...they really make me wanna keep writing. There’s one that really sticks in my head where Grace just kinda stopped commenting and was like ‘I need to pause here to rant about how amazing you are with words’ and she like rambled about how I use words to make her feel things in ways others didn’t or something? It was so humbling and kind, and my heart just sorta...flopped out of my chest. I adore the comments that people leave analyzing my works, really. Anything that shows they thought about the comment just honestly makes me grateful to have the people I do supporting me. <3
