- Both are parody type animes/games with Konosuba being a parody of the typical isekai and Neptunia being a parody of the gaming industry. However, IN MY OPINION, Konosuba does a terrible job at being a parody because when I was watching it, it felt like I was watching a trashy ecchi anime, not one trying to touch on or mock the media it’s supposed to parody. A good parody, like Neptunia, takes punches at itself for its core concept NOT simply doing what the media they are parodying does just in a more absurd tone. So many cases in Neptunia there are moments of clarity through their jokes and scenes, and that’s what makes it enjoyable and not like I’m playing a stale RPG.
- Both are gooner bait. I don’t care how you want to defend it, they are both ways to get horny men (and women i see yall) to buy figures and dakimakaras of their favorite girl almost naked. AND THATS FINE! But I’d like to argue that Neptunia isn’t just gooner bait, it’s refined gooner bait, more than a simple game that shows a little boob to excite the viewers. It takes its story of the console wars and puts so much effort into referencing the most minor things for console fans to see and go crazy for! It expands on its characters past their initial gooner appeal to where you grow attached to their stories and goals! Even if you wanted to go in just to get hard, you can come out with such great stories and characters and designs while still getting ur bait 👍! From what I saw in Konosuba, everything revolved around the gooner bait. Sure there were fights, but how many of those fights included a girls clothes getting torn or some boob physics to distract the main story. And anything past those fights is. just. gooner bait. The story revolved around gooner bait. The jokes revolved around gooner bait. The character design revolved around gooner bait. Everything was gooner bait. I left that experience feeling like I stumbled onto someone’s horny dreams and not a fantasy story with ecchi parts in between. Neptunia is gooner bait. Konosuba is gooner slop.
- Both are comedy, however the jokes, IN MY OPINION, do not land as well in Konosuba as they do in Neptunia. Again, take this part with a grain of salt cause I’m an asexual man who isn’t a big fan of ecchi BUT I could get through all the ecchi bits of Neptunia! Why? BECAUSE IT WAS FUNNY! They clearly take the piss out of what they do and the oversexualization the game industry, and even the anime industry, does tocute girls, and they aren’t shy of it. R-18 island was funny as fuck, because they made fun of the typical blur anime trope but enhanced on it! You can watch or play Neptunia either as a gooner or not and still find enjoyment in those jokes. Konosuba on the other hand is purely gooner jokes to make someone jerk off while laughing. haha he stole her panties with magic 😐 i’m laughing so hard rn. oh the big tit girl doesn’t realize she has big tits again, so hilarious 😐 which brings me to my next point…

- All Darkness’s character is boobs. She doesn’t know how hot she is or how big her boobs are who when she flaunts them blah blah blah. Vert in every way is better than her. She has big boobs AND SHE FLAUNTS IT! SHES PROUD! She knows the power that she has AND SHE THRIVES OFF IT! And past that, Vert’s character goes beyond that, showing that past her regal tone and good looks, she’s a binge gamer and otaku! Shes relatable and ACTUALLY FUNNY WITH HER BOOB JOKES. Again I couldn’t make it past the succubus episode so i’m sure Darkness gets more character development, but all i’ve seen from her is “o no my boobs so big and i don’t know don’t steal my bra 🥺👉👈”
If ur a Konosuba fan im not hating on u I swear, I just PERSONALLY, didn’t enjoy the show and see so many people who like it and I cant understand why past gooner bait. Please let me know why u liked it so much I genuinely want to know :3 Maybe how I see Neptunia is how u see Konosuba and that’s great for u man 👍
